Auction "Test" Forum?

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Would it be a bad idea to have a forum to post "Would you buy if I sold this.." threads?
And "Look what I just posted for sale" threads.
Things to do with our new auction.
I was wanting to sell some Bonsai but before I made some up and went through the trouble I was wondering if we had or could have a forum just for that.

Just wondering.

I think having something like that would go a bit counter to the acceptable use policy of no self-promotion, etc. Speaking as a buyer, I'd find it a more efficient use of my time to just go to the marketplace and browse around to see what's there and what was posted recently, I can honestly say I wouldn't follow a forum like that since it's easier to just go to the marketplace and see what's new. I think as awareness of the marketplace goes up, plenty of people are going to go there regularly to see what's new. And it doesn't take that long to post something for sale--if you try something once and there's absolutely no interest then you know people probably aren't interested in that sort of item, but if it's gardening related and reasonably priced I can almost guarantee there'll be someone out there who wants it. Now if it's a really beautiful $500 bonsai, you may have a few less takers than you would for $10 bonsai starters, but it still only takes a few minutes to post the item, and you never know who might be out there with money burning a hole in their pocket!

I agree with Ecrane. A thread for "testing the waters" would get very long and complex.
I know I wouldn't bother wading through it just to see what people were "thinking" of selling.
I just want to see items that are actually available, and we can see those just by
going to the auction site.

Threads about individual sales would not only be out of alignment with the policy of no
self-promotion but would really clutter things up. Eventually there will be hundreds (or
more) people posting things for sale, and it's impractical for them to announce
that fact in separate threads.

My two cents worth.

Oh, didn't realize it would violate the TOS.

Is there a "see other items for sale by this user" feature?

Just answered my own question, there is.
Thanks guys!!!
