A good score!
I have a polynuera (outside) that grows quite well, and makes a peduncle at every node, but hasn't bloomed in the 4+ years I've had it.
Anybody had this one bloom? And if so, how'd you do it?

North Central, ID(Zone 6a)

Yes, I must join in and say a big Thank You, Gracias, Merci to Mark.
What a great way to return the forum to Fun Fun Fun ^_^
I haven't even got my box yet, but it's been just great so far !!

Paula

Cape Coral, FL(Zone 10a)

Kare, you are welcome. I am glad you like the cuttings.
Mark, thank you for hosting this swap. My polyneura never flowered for me, I think it's too hot here.

Moon, VA(Zone 7a)

Weeding! Thanks so much for your generous swap! I feel like I won the hoya lottery. I am busy welcoming multiflora, carnosa Krimson Queen, rubra, Krinkle, publicalyx Splash, obovata and macgillivrayi, as well as my no id non-hoya! The cuttings are healthy and large. This is my first swap ever and I am so excited--I will write "From Cindy" on the back of all their little tags :-)) Mark, thanks from me, too, for organizing this. What a great feeling of community it creates. Cathy

My box came today. I got polyneurra, Krimson Queen, compacta and obovata. I also got cuttings of Hatiora UNK, hatiora salicoiniodes, Rhipsalis, and staplia giganta. I'm overjoyed. I have the hoya soaking in ST, and will pot them up tomorrow and take pics of them all.
Thanks Jo, for such a wonderful bunch of cuttings. I'm overjoyed.

San Francisco, CA

I got my box today- from Ric in Florida. This is even better than my order from David Liddle! There were six or seven nice cuttings, one noid (which I like!) and the best of all, a rooted cutting of Hoya retusa! I've ordered this several times, but never could get it rooted.
Thanks so much, Ric!

Saint Petersburg, FL(Zone 9b)

Mark,
Glad you like. And thank you for a fun well organized swap.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Ric grows a mean retusa!!!!!

Fuquay-Varina, NC(Zone 7a)

I groggily stumbled down to the barn for the evening feed, only to open the feed room door to find a package for me. I might at that this was not a box I expected at all. I quickly fed the horses and stole away to my kitchen to see what hoya booty the gods had bestowed on me.

I cracked open the box to see what new victims, er cuttings I had for my rooting experiments. I shamefully might mention that I have only been successful in getting one hoya to ever root for me, but I lay blame for this on the fact that I was moving pretty much all of last year. Anyway, I unwrapped each of the (screaming?) hoyas and stared for about a minute at the heiroglyphics scrawled on each white tag

I think I got:

h. shepardii
h sp nong nooch
h sp philippines img0831
h cv "iris marie"
tanne island (??)
h anulata
and a mystery leafless vine

I should also mention that most of these cuttings had a peduncle or twelve. I thank my Secret Santa for the box of love. I currently have them all playing in a tub of water with a splash of Eleanors.

gaiadisciple, Who knew that evening chores could be so rewarding. Sounds like you were in Hoya heaven last night.

This really is an exciting thing to be part of, it's like watching everyone open presants at christmas time.

Eileen, I'm glad you liked what I sent, I hope some of them are new for you.

North Central, ID(Zone 6a)

AHA - H. cv. Chelsea is YOURS!!!! what great cuttings are being exchanged!!!! This whole swap gives me such warm and fuzzies!!! I remember when I was a newbie...when I didn't know a lot more than what I don't know now and when I just couldn't fathom where to get cuttings...how to start...whom to trust. There was Nothing like these wonderful swaps...just private ones where there were good traders and awful ones and OK ones and who knew? It is so fun to participate where giving and sharing is so easy...where the Christian (or whatever) ethics and values we ''share''really manifest.

For those of you who didn't participate...maybe next year you can share this wonderful spirit.... I hope so because it is really worth it for the soul. The ability to give is such a blessing!

Carol

North Central, ID(Zone 6a)

I agree 100 %. I AM a newbie and with this swap received all brand new hoyas to me.
I love it !! And I enjoyed just as much sending my box off to my swap partner.
I highly recommend this...and it's great ( terrible ?) for addictions !!

Paula

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

I received my box from paula yesterday....I received H. pubicalyx, H. obscura, and one that was labeled as H. carnosa but it really looks like verticullata variegata to me. I'll try to get a pic so someone else can try an ID. I also got some very cool flowery pens. Thanks so much!!

Kim

Macon, IL(Zone 5b)

You're very welcome, Paula! I was secretly enjoying your posts to the "chelsea" thread, teeheeing to myself that one was on it's way to you!

These swaps are the bomb! I have always gotten great trade partners, which has resulted in an ever-growing collection. This is a great way to make friends while supporting our addictions. I look forward to the next one!

Karen

Saint Petersburg, FL(Zone 9b)

Jeeezzz.......wow, bjf want to trade? Very very nice.

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Congratulations to all, beautiful cuttings!
I will absolutely join next time.

San Francisco, CA

Ric, is Clivia commonly grown in Florida? I norcal it has become really popular- what a tough, dependable low light plant! And beautiful, too.
There are some nice yellow and white forms that have been showing up in recent years here, at very high prices.

Shepherdstown, WV

I just looked up clivia - Wow - that's beautiful! Low light, huh?

Must add to list....

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

There ARE some brilliant Clivia with wide fat variegated leaves!!!! I love them!

Aberdeen, NC

Wow, That epi Empress is a beauty!! I can't believe the blooms. This swap is fun. I love seeing what everyone is getting.

Saint Petersburg, FL(Zone 9b)

Mark,
I don't see clivia very often.....And I'm know to spend weekends traveling to florida nurseries. I know they are very desirable and can be expensive. Like Carol has written...some of the variagated ones are beatiful but can cost you a lot of hoya dollars.
Just check e-bay listings! --- OT ( if anyone out there has a variageted clivia :) I'd be willing to trade a mean hoya for it)

Huntsville, AL(Zone 7a)

Hi Kathy! I am so glad you liked the selection I sent. This is so much fun... I love enabling a fellow Hoya addict!!

Barb

My cuttings have arrived. Thank you so much Karen!

We got home from my brother-in-laws wedding and there they were waiting for me: Hoya Mathilda, Hoya schneii, Hoya cembra, Hoya Iris Marie. Hoya Nummeraloides and epi ‘Crème de Menthe. I love them all. They are all in the rooting box (except for the epi which is in its own separate pot).
Thanks Again
Dawn

PS - Sorry I didn’t post yesterday but I couldn’t get time on the computer. My three sons and my husband were hogging it.

Shepherdstown, WV

I mailed my box off today!

I took a picture of my wonderful cuttings and thought I would post it as well.
