Here's the one that came back for more, as Mama looks on.
Bluebird Thread # 7
Absolutely adorable Dave!
Thanks again for sharing these with us!
yes indeed! You're such a good grandpa!
It's been so much fun watching this family. Really appreciate you sharing this!
Beautiful shot Dave! Is that a female?
Wonderful lessons. Thanks Dave. How is the next generation doing?
Hey, wow! They have started feeding themselves. I am sure Pop is glad. But then it starts over...Poor little guys. Can you imagine humans in the same way?
Thanks for sharing Dave. I have enjoyed the pictures immensely.

Do you know about when the female starts getting some blue feathers Dave?
Well Pelle, they never really get as blue as the male, although, as she gets her adult plummage, she will get a little bit of blue among the wing feathers and a lot more in her lower back and tail feathers. When I have time I will go back and look at my picture collection of juveniles and see if I can answer your question with illustrations.

Here's some really good news, 2nd cousin Dave! I put the sparrow spooker on the house after the first egg as you said, and they (parents) had no problem with it. As of 5 days ago, there are 4 babies (from 4 eggs in the nest). It is a late nesting for our area, but the heat doesn't seem to be bothering them so far. Mom and Pop are feeding the four babies regularly - with some help from the meal worms I supply (Happy Meals for BB's ! LOL). Thanks so much for your pics and your help. I'm on cloud nine! I look forward to watching what you have so beautifully photographed and shared with us.
Thank you!
You're certainly welcome. BW. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and your little ones.
I know this thread is too long for dial up users, so I'll start a new one. I've been taking a bit of a break as far as posting is concerned during our recent rains, but there is always something going on.
Dave
Hope you are drying up a bit. You've had some truly awful weather. Glad to hear you're ok.
