Did I give you that? I don't even know what it is. Probably one of the ones someone gave me that never had a label. Great color, though.
Our Visit to HostaJims
Kaleem - beautiful. You have a great collection there.
Kaleem ~ all three of those are gorgeous! I would take any one of the in a heartbeat!
Love the Christmas Candy.
Gordon, the 1st pic looks like Francee, the 2nd I'm guessing a Sieboldiana, or maybe Krossa Regal. some of the older ones I have trouble with. Jim

Thank you................... Today I have received three more Hostas from USA and she is not from DG but one of my best friend. Tow of them are green and one is green with beautiful white border. But now I am after big leaf Hostas and hope those will also added in my collection soon.
Jim
What about the one I have received from Pxidish?
KALEEM
So Kaleem - how do you keep them all in shade? Are they all in pots and distributed around a courtyard? I'm fascinated by the amount of work you must put into keeping your little darlings alive.
What a lovely gift to get from your best friend. Clearly, he/she knows you well.
Kathy
Thanks, Kaleem, for posting the pictures. I would have thought it too hot to have grass - you must have to water that a lot, too. I love your courtyard - what kinds of trees am I looking at?
Warms me up just looking at it.
Gumlla, Beautiful - actually brought tears to my eyes. I don't have many varieties of Hosta (darn it - every one I see, I want!), but have a ton of Undulata - a "common" type, but from a plant my late grandmother bought in the late 60's. I had it id'd on the Hosta forum as no one in my family had a clue as to what it was. Obviously special to me as my love of gardening comes from my sweet grandma.
Carol - it is so special to have a plant from your grandmother. I have a peony from bulbs owned by my great aunt who died in 1981.
Kaleem - what a beautiful place you live. I can see that it must take all of your time to take care of your precious plants. In clay pots and in 120 F weather, no less!! I'm guessing that all of your trees are fruit-bearing. That must be wonderful. Guava, especially . . . I LOVE guava.
gumlla, What a beautiful garden and patio you have. Love the pots also. I have a very large hosta, over three feet tall with very large sage green and cream leaves. Maybe I can send you a start. Patricia

Thank you so much for the offer, Actually at this time shipping Hostas mean to kill them , I will contact you in the end of September and remined you this. Is this okay? I am excited to have this big leaf Hosta.
Kathy
Its very difficult to grow such loving cold area plants in such high temperature but twice a day water and shade help me in growing such rare plants here. Here are my other plants in the pots.
KALEEM
Love that last picture. It would fit right into a California landscape. Yes, I was thinking it will be in the fall to ship the hosta. Maybe someone who has shipped to you before will give me ideas on how to do it sucessfully. I will post a picture when it is up and blooming. Patricia
Kaleem,
Was going back over your pics, and waiting for mine to show thier little faces. I just got into Hostas last year, this will be my frist full year.
And I bought a grab bag last spring, and still cannot ID them, after going back a looking at yours again. I think I may have some names for them.
Does this look like Fire and Ice or ?
Tills, it's Atom Smasher X Venusta an 06 hybrid seedling. Jim
Tills, the blue on the left of ASx Ven. looks like a Skylight X , Jim
Pixydish, when the flower opens, take one of the pollen sacs and use it as a paint brush on the stigma. it is in the center and has no pollen on it. try to do this in the early afternoon. the bees might get to it, but if it's the only Hosta blooming there won't be any crossing. with another one. then if it takes, wait 6 weeks and then harvest the seeds. hosta seeds are viable as soon as they mature. unlike some seeds, where you have to have a cold, warm cycle. it's interesting to get a sone selfed seeds. maybe wake up some recessive genes. Jim

Your last two are so pretty. Really eye catching.
