Newbie's page

I have had some trouble learning how to use DG and even though I have tried to use all the information available including "help", there were still some areas that I didn't understand. For instance, how do I post my needs on the "latest member seed additions" instead of just on my page? I think a regular forum thread for newbies that do not understand how to make this website work would be really favorable.

I think so too, except that the newbies are the one's that don't really know. Maybe instead of newbies we should have a technical section or something. Don't know, just a thought. I have heard from someone else taht they thought it was hard to figure out how to use this forum. I personally think it's pretty clear except I couldn't figure out where the rating thing came in, how to use it and what was good and what was bad. Good thing it's gone now.

Thanks Dave!

Say you post 10 new seed entries to your have list today, those 10 entries would show up on the lasted additiions list. Then I post 10 new seed entries to my have list tomorrow. Those 10 new entries would show up there. That list is constantly changing. New additions to have list today will show up in the newsletter tomorrow also. You could also post in the trading forum about having added more entries to your have list and put a link there would also help.

Does that help?

woodspirit1,

I just looked at your have list. One seed would have been on the Latest Addition board on January 28th and the other would have been on there on Feb 5th. They may not have been on that board for very long either if some else entered seeds that day. Or several people could have entered seeds that day and bumped yours off too.

SMSPEAR1, yes that helps and thanks. I had just discovered to go to the seed/plant trading forum to post new things I have or want. I have not seen them show up on the new listings at the bottom of the pages though. I need to check and watch more closely. To tell the truth, most of my needs have been met so far this spring. The only things I have not found were the dwarf hollyhock, Sidalcea "Little Princess" which can take some shade and the Persian Shield which I finally broke down and ordered form Park's Catalog. I can't believe how much help I have gotten from everyone and what a great friendly group is here.THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.......YOU TOO DAVE........Betty (woodspirit)

Glad I could help!
