Can't Find Weigelia

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

I have been looking for info on weigelia and cannot find it in the PD? Any suggestions on where to look on DG or by another name?

I think your problem was probably the spelling...it's spelled Weigela not weigelia.

Thanks, I tried different spellings, but must all have been wrong. Thanks for heading me in the right direction, knew it had to be here somewhere.

Tip: When I am not sure about a spelling of any word, I always try it in my Google search bar first and it usually gives me the correct spelling. I have to do that all the time with plants.

See, you don't even need to leave DG!

Sue, I tried that and google provided the search and the Google spelling was weigelia???
Thanks Terri, will do that if needed again.

Yikes, you're right! So are all these other web sites also getting the spelling wrong?! Pretty bad.
At least Wiki has it right.

The trouble with this particular mis-spelling is that there are a LOT of people who spell this one wrong, so Google will still pull up a bunch of results. Usually when you spell a plant name wrong Google will recognize that there are a lot more hits with the slightly different correct spelling, but in this case there are so many places that spell it wrong that Google doesn't pick it up as a mis-spelling.

Oh this is funny. I clicked the first Google link of the incorrect spelling and they have both versions, wrong heading and right beneath it, the correct one!

The USDA lists "weigelia" as an orthographic variant.
