Update on my May 10, 2008 report. My 46 yr. old son has come to stay with us awhile. He is sleeping in the bedroom where my grandson and grandau. had their night time episodes. He told us Sunday morning on the way to church that he had a nightmare Sat. night. It was so scary it woke him up. He told me what it was about, but I have forgotten. Will ask him to tell me again tomorrow. Usually you will forget your dreams, but he went into detail about his. Sometimes when I am sitting in the living room late at night since he has been here I can hear him muttering in his sleep and saying no, no, no. Never says anything the next morning. I just tell the WATCHERS to watch and the angels to guard and protect. I don't know what the watchers are but they are in the bible and if its good enough for the bible to make reference to watchers it is good enough for me. When we leave our property I set watchers to watch and angels to guard and protect. So far in 14 yrs. it has worked.
Some survival tips:
The thing about legends is, sometimes they're true.
If it creeps up quietly, it probably eats loudly.
Even things that go "bump" in the night, sometimes need protection.
If the thing under your porch ate your dog, it probable is not your cat.
If it has eyes in the back of its head, don't stand behind it.
Not all parasites need you for food. Some just want you for shelter
If ever animal runs in the same direction, follow them.
And my all time personal favorite:
If the egg is bigger than you are - RUN.
Goodnight everyone. Sleep tight. LIZ
Spooks and ghosts and weeping ladies...oh my! Pt 2
Great tips!
Oh! Those are priceless! LOL Thanks, Liz.
My printer is still starting on it's own. I'm curious to get it in the shop and have it overhauled. See if it still starts on it's own after that.
P.S. I'm not afraid of things that go "bump" in the night. I'm afraid of things that go "ROAR!!!"
Hello, I have just found this thread. I am glad to know there are people out there that see and hear things like I do. Whew, maybe I'm not crazy. I have always seemed to attract "happenings" when I was young it really did scare me, now as an adult I try not to put myself in places and situtations (misspelled) that I know will manifest something. Does that sound stuffy? LOL Probably. But things happen on their own without me encouraging them.
Here is one of my stories that didn't produce any kind of fear in me. My mother and I shared a house many years ago, I was an adult at this time. Actually it was a trailor house and my mom had taken care of the lady who had lived in it. My mother failed to tell me that the lady had died in the house as she knows about my affinity for the paranormal. She really wanted us to buy the house and she knew I wouldn't have moved in had I known about the death in the house. Anyway it was a Christmas Eve one year and my mom wasn't home and I was expected at my dad's house, my niece had called and I assured her I was going to be there soon. When I hung up the phone I laid down on the bed thinking I was going to take a short nap then I would go. The reason my niece had called was that I had a bad habit of being late to everywhere except work or college and my dad always insisted on waiting on me. ( Yes, I know, bad manners, my only excuse was I was so busy with work and school I was tired all the time and my naps would turn into hours.) I was lying on my right side facing the door of my bedroom when I felt a hand placed on the side of my head and the hand ran down over my hair and ear and a soft, gentle voice said "Honey, you need to wake up, wake up and go be with your family" ( Chills are roughing my skin as I remember this). I assumed my mom had came home even though it didn't sound like her. I got up and went and looked and she was not at home. I felt no malice at all. I believe it was Mrs. Carter that had lived there waking me up. Had she not I might have slept through my families Christmas Eve gathering.
Terri, I never thought to use a thought transference when I felt a presence. I will have to think about that more.
I spent all my early childhood sleeping with my head covered except my nose. I always had to have the radio playing to cover up the things I could hear. My mom always said it was my imagination. As an adult when I am having trouble with these kinds of things or having nightmares I sleep with my bible. It has to be touching me, I feel so peaceful and unafraid that I am able to go to sleep.
Amber
Not alone and not crazy. At least, I don't think you are. ☺ Things happen all over. We need to pay attention.
Good you felt safe. Any other stories? (And you didn't sound stuffy.) ☺
I'm still checking in on this thread and enjoying reading everyone's posts. Haven't contributed for awhile because I felt I was 'hogging' the thread and wanted to give others a chance (but I will be back in due course).
Amber, your story made me smile. It was exactly like some of the things I had happen to me and as a child I thought everyone could see and hear the same things I could. I know exactly what you mean when you say you avoid certain places and situations...me too!! I honestly believe that 99.99% of 'happenings' are not malevolent. I do think that we can invite bad spirits into our lives too, by the things we do or are interested in (for example, I never watch horror films any more).
But that is just me and I live my life my own way.
Kwanjin, how's your printer? Any further happenings? This is getting very interesting :o)
Terri
It still comes on but nothing happens after that. Well, except there was paper caught inside. I pulled it out and reset everything. It started up one more time after that.
Terri, don't feel you're hogging the spotlight. Tell all the stories you wish.
Hey...I am still reading too.
I haven't contributed because, whew for right now, I haven't had any experiences out of the ordinary.
My kids on the other hand...Thought they saw a shadow of the little boy.
This little boy was five years old and stuck by a car.
One night, my kids were up very late into the night...goofing around and saw this shadow playing peekaboo!
As soon as they would take notice he dissappeared and popped up somewhere else.
The kids knew about him, as we all do so they were not afraid and played with the shadow!
They did try and take a picture of the shadow, I didn't see it but they insisted it was the boy, who am I to say it wasn't.
I am however going to try and find this photo of a light, which I think might be the same spirit.
I didn't notice anything like it when taking the photo but it is there plain.. as day.
Celia...Very bizarre on the printer! Does it happen when you are alone? LOL, not sure I'd want to see what it wants to print tho.
Amber, I think most Spirits are around and some like to offer help. Your lady sounds like she knew it was important for you to be at that Gathering.
OK going to see if I can locate the photo!
Yes, Judy, I'd like to see that. And the printer does it's thing whether Darrell is here or not. ☺☺☺
For Chinese ghost stories, read a book called 'Liao Zhai' (the Strange Stories of Liaozhai) written by Pu Songling of the Qing Dynasty.
Jianhua
Thank you, Jianhua. Always looking for new material, as you know.
Would it be alright if I took a moment off subject to ask Jianhua a question about a Chinese story?
I lived on the Texas coast for six years, from 2nd grade thru 7th grade and my parents were friends with a couple that lived in a haunted house. This began my belief that spirits were attracted to me. I suspected before then but oh boy, I didn't have a clue until I entered that house. The Stansberries knew their house was haunted. They had several children but all three were way older than me, one was an adult. Sometimes at night they could hear noises in their living room, they would awaken to a name spelled with their encyclopedia. Remember when the less expensive brands just put each letter in one volume? The encyclopedias would spell LISA and rest of the volumes would be on the floor. I have witnessed this myself. Everybody would deny having anything to do with it and as it happened with regularity and not everybody home all the time they would have all had to been in on it to pull it off and then to what conclusion? I was over visiting one evening watching the oldest daughter, Barbie, put her makeup on. She was a member of a country and western band that played clubs and bars. It must of been before you had to be 21 to get in because she was still in high school. Anyway she was sitting in her chair at her dresser and I was leaning on it beside her. I was in the 4th grade and she tolerated me like a little sister. I heard a whisper of something and as I was turning my head to look at the doorway I saw a hand reach for the lamp on her dresser and the light suddenly turned on. The hand didn't look solid, I could make out the hand shape with every finger but it was sort of transparent with a pink tinge. Even though Barbie lived there it unnerved her almost as bad as me and she followed me right out of the room.
I have many more stories, especially about that house. Right now my husband is wanting me to go get pizza so I better go. It's raining here and has been for awhile so getting to town is going to be a chore on my dirt road.
I believe children see spirits and come back as spirits because their minds are more open to it.
Terri I completely believe that about inviting bad spirits into your life. I don't have a problem with horror shows as long as they are not about demons or anything demonic. I will not watch or listen to anything depicting the devil or demons. But that is another story. I also believe that once you have invited the spirits in, rather you meant to or just didn't know what you were getting into, that you have opened a pathway that is very hard to close. Ok, that sounds dramatic LOL I believe that comes from my Native American ancestery with a little Scottish blood too. LOL
Kwanjin its my tv for me, sometimes it just comes on. It can be disconcerting for sure.
My hubby is complaining his stomach is growling, better go. LOL
Okay, I'm really getting creeped out now. This has never happened to me before. The printer came on and printed a single black line. This happened while DH and I were gone for the evening. Nothing has ever happened in this house before now.
Amber, it is true about children. Their minds are more open than adults. As we grow up we're told to put away those daydreams and fantasies, as they're sometimes called.
Kawonkamish,
Sorry I've not posted anything for a while, it's been kind of hectic here. I was a bridesmaid in my sisters wedding and had family staying with us. We had seven people staying at my house; people sleeping on couches and on floors. It was a mad house... lol.
Anyway... just last week my niece spent the night over in the sewing/computer room. She had to get up to use the facilities and when she was in there, she heard a woman say, "Hello". She said it sounded like the woman was just outside of the bathroom window; she looked out the window and the whole backyard was pitch-black. So it was impossible, for there to have been anyone there to say anything, as we have motion sensor lights on all sides of the house. No matter which direction the woman came, she would've triggered at least one of the lights. Needless to say my niece was freaked out. She refused to sleep in the sewing/computer room for the remainder of the night, because it abuts the bathroom. She ended up sleeping on the living room couch.
A few nights later, I also heard the woman say, "Hello" while using the facilities. It's happened again a few times since then, as well. While I was in the bathroom, I've also heard, what seemed to be, a conversation going on in the basement. It sounded like a man and a woman talking back and forth. I've also heard footsteps moving towards the bathroom, while I was in there. I thought it was my mother, but when I opened the door no one was there and my mother was sound asleep.
Two Fridays ago, as I was sitting on the sofa watching the TV, I saw a light moving left to right in my mother's room. My mother wasn't home, because on 'Friday Game Night' she goes over a friend's house to play Rummikub or Domino's.
Lately, when I get up during the night, I get the distinct impression that I'm being watched... you know that creepy crawly feeling. It's as if something is staring at me from the kitchen area, near the basement door.
I'll let you know if anything else happens. Until then, T.T.F.N.
Aquene,
Moe/WautuckquesSochepo
My printer hasn't done anything except come on after that one line it made.
I know that creepy-crawly feeling...it's creepy.
I've started a new thread in the hopes of getting more stories.
It's here...
