I was happy. I really was. Don't why the long face.
Christi
Nice looking bunch. Sorry I could not make it.
After we exchanged plants and had the wonderful lunch, which consisted of four different main dishes, one of them was stuffed grape leaves, a great Greek traditional dish including olives and Baklava.
There were wonderful side dishes, salads and desserts, including a great sopapilla cheese cake.
After that, we packed up and headed out for the tour of private gardens that T.J. had carefully arranged.
Here is one of the homes.
After the nursery we headed to T.J.s house, where he showed us around his garden and pointed out all the plants he is growing, he has a very nice collection already.
After resting a little while Christi's husband arrived with the BBQ brisket that he had lovingly prepared for us, and we had another lovely meal, which included Phyllis' PMS pie and Sylvia's sweet potato pie.
We were totally stuffed, happy and very tired. Here is the happy group.
Thank you everybody, it was great seeing all of you , and thank you T.J. for a wonderful day and a job well done.
Josephine.
Did you know the gal at the iris home said she had just signed up for DG that week?
I had a wonderful time- was very glad I went. Enjoyed meeting you all and look forward to seeing you again!
MamaJack - as promised...here's your song...just the words for now.
"Waitin on MamaJack"
Down on Daves Garden, where the family grows
It was a fine spring day, exhanging what we know,
When LouC and Rj finally show, a silly mistake in time was read,
Our attention then focused on one missing person instead,
Enjoying a picinic with food that was stacked
someone pipes up and says "Where's MamaJack at?"
All in a caravan, lovin up TJ's plan
when the cell phone rang and a sound of angels sang
"This is Mama Jack, and I'm wonderin where y'all are at?",
I'd like to join the caravan, if you don't mind,
tell me where to find, TJ' garden tour-
Well TJ hung up the phone, turned with a twinkle in his eyes
and said
We're waiting on Mama Jack, yeah waitin on MamaJack
don't know if she'll find her way, until we're on our way back!
The caravan waits, while TJ hesitates ,
thinking on what next to do.
We continue on, to the Dragon lawn, when Mama Jack finally shows.
Now it's off to TJ's don'tcha know, cuttin up brisket,
and checking out what TJ grows.
The evenings not over, not yet by chance, cause
theres some trickery left in Mamajack. Her cigarettes low,
she begins to plot, a clever story we'd never had thought,
On the cell phone once again, Mamajacks voice began to sing,
"Rj's low on cigarettes yes, and once you get here he'll pay you I guess."
When our friend does show the goods in hand, we have a good laugh
and we understand
Waitin on MamaJack, Waitin on Mamajack!
Rj

Phyllis
ROFLOL!
LOL..I told her ....she was going to be in a song after that!...LOL........
The neighbor told me they rent that out for weddings and the house next to it with the pond/stream had been a bed and breakfast at one time
Ben is a clever little guy too. We were figuring out ways to use water for fuel in cars!
I could definately see that it would be a great place for a wedding! I saw a stack of banquet tables and chairs there.
This was a fairly new yard at this house. It was laid out with flag stone pathways entertwining the entire yard. When those new plantings fill in it will be a thing of beauty.
