Why limit editing?

Why are we limited to only a few edits a day?
Does it effect the servers somehow?
It's making it hard for me to write my tutorials, lol.
Not complaining, just curious?

This is what Terry sent me some time ago on edit limits..................

I think the limit is 5 or 10 in a 24-hour period. We have a limit
because we have had a few members abuse the edit capability:

1) They get into an angry dialogue with someone, and then go back and
remove all their posts, leaving the other person looking vindictive
and/or foolish. (And everyone else speculating what the dust-up was
about.)

2) They decide to "clean house" on their way out the DG door, and
start removing all their posts - leaving threads with weird "holes" in
them.

The edit limit seems to effectively minimize both of those
activities. A few forums have unlimited edits (such as the co-op
forum, where someone may need to re-edit their post multiple times in
one day. But those edits count against their "daily quota", so they
may not be able to do much - or any - editing in other forums for that
day.

That makes sense. And is a good reminder to "think before speaking" on a
thread.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh okay.

I have to figure out how to post my tutorials in a different manner I guess.
Thanks!!!

Crimson -- Can you create your tutorials in Word and finish all the editing
there before posting?

Thats what I did.
But because I can only upload one picture per post I was quickly uploading all the pictures so no one posted until I was finished with the tutorial, LOL.
I'm weird I know. ^_^
Check the bonsai forum to see what I mean.
The thread is entitled Mame Root Over Rock Tutorial.

cool, because I had the same question. Thanks for the answer. :o)
