Olympia, WA(Zone 7b)

Please post on this thread if you plan to attend the upcoming fabulous event! I dmailed Jim for directions and will dmail them to all of you that sign up on here! Susy and I are talking on the phone right now (she's waving.) We where thinking that we should all bring a brown bag lunch and we can have a picnic (possibly polar, bring your down jacket and pocket warmers) at Dragonfly! Stay tuned to this thread for more information as the date approaches. Rachel

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Okay. I'm in - guessing that Kate and I will come together. Picnic is a great idea.

Port Angeles, WA(Zone 8b)

I'm in for sure! DH maybe but his brother is going to be here from Missoula and is leaving the next day, so likely he won't come. Picnic sounds like fun. It'll be warm that weekend. No, REALLY!

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

Sheri - are you promising? yippee!!!!

Yes - Kathy & I will come from far from the east, traversing long & treacherous paths to make the pilgrimage to Dragonfly. Especially with food!!!
tuned in & ready for updates, sir!

Port Angeles, WA(Zone 8b)

I've put on my gypsy do-rag, my big hoop earrings, my shawl and swirl skirt of many colors and have dug out the family crystal ball. She says yes...it will be warm(ish). {= S

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

Well that's a given that it will be warm somewhere - but warm HERE is what counts.
I need assurance!!!
BTW - that was bigger-than-pea-sized hail that I had the opportunity to experience just a bit ago. Now I have popsicle toes & a desire to hibernate. This is not supposed to be...

Olympia, WA(Zone 7b)

I just finished putting little "hats" (a 2 liter pop bottle and/or milk jug cut in half) over the new hosta plugs and perennials that I planted. Hope it works.

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

Hey didn't I say when we where there, That Heidis would be a great place to have picnic. Or maybe I just told Carole that. LOL

I will be there, I put in my Vac. just for it.
Sheri, I thought you where going to save that outfit, for the chant over the Trailer/Gypsy Wagon. ^_^
I think the group is going to be bigger this year. FUN

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

Rach - what about their little arms needing wee jackets?

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

LOL

Olympia, WA(Zone 7b)

I managed to tuck thier little arms into thier hats :0)

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

All snuggled in, good job mom. LOL

Snohomish, WA

I am in like Flynn! Even took the day off!

Port Angeles, WA(Zone 8b)

Tills ~ My Gypsy regalia is used for anything 'prognosticating' that needs doing. Not worn daily, but pulled out when needed.

Buckeye, AZ(Zone 9a)

I am crossing my fingers....very tight!

Olympia, WA(Zone 7b)

Jim wanted to let us know that there is an artist about two miles from his house who does some wonderful metal sculptures, here is his website http://www.jameskelseystudios.com/homepage.html if anyone is interested in going to visit the studio before or after going to DragonFly please let Jim know. :0) Rachel

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

RR, I'm going to try to get to Dragonfly. What time are you going to be in Port Orchard?

Vashon, WA(Zone 8b)

I am trying to get the day free to go to Jim's and Dragonfly, so I do need directions. I'll be in Ellensburg the day before, and hope everything works out to be back on this side of the mountains on Sunday. Is it possible I could car pool with someone from Jim's house up to Dragonfly?

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

MHF I would be glad to, I live on this side would be easy for me to take you and then back to the ferry, if you want.

Vashon, WA(Zone 8b)

Tilly, If it works out for you to pick me up at the ferry instead of at Jim's that would be great. Now that I'm thinking about it, my DH will need the car to get my son's drum equipment from the High School theater that afternoon. Hey, less money on ferry fare means I can actually buy a couple more plants when we get to Dragonfly. I'll help with gas $. I'll be in touch via d-mail to confirm and make sure this works for you later this week. Thanks.

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

Thats no problem, you will be on the southworth ferry? I just have to remember where it is. been along time since I have been there. LOL I moved from that area in 82, I lived on the same road that Jim's is on.
Wonder what my old house looks like. this is going to be a trip back in time for me. LOL

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

HI Tills, I'm coming to Dragonfly on Sunday so you won't have to carry my load. Thanks for the offer. See you soon.

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

OOOO Willow,
I will still be at your place on the 30th. If you can't get them all in your car I will bring the rest.
^_^

Port Angeles, WA(Zone 8b)

Rachel ~ I'm along for the ride. I go where everyone else goes, so if the concensus wants to go to the sculptors, I'm in. I think I've seen that guy's place when heading to the Southworth Ferry. There's a sign outside that says "BUY my ART" (if it's the same place).

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

Kathy - what time do we have to get to where?
read: what time do we need to leave for the Ferry?

Oops:

Spring 2008 Bremerton Ferry Schedule:

http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/schedules/current/index.cfm?route=sea-br

+20 minute drive to Port Orchard, so I think we need to take either the 7:50 ferry (puts us at Jim's at 9:10) or the 9:05 ferry (puts us at Jim's at 10:25)

Spring 2008 Southworth Ferry Schedule:

http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/schedules/current/index.cfm?route=f-s

+20 minute drive to Port Orchard, so I think we need to take either the 7:35 (puts us at Jim's at 8:35) or 8:45 ferry (puts us at Jim's at 9:45)

Any suggestions, anybody as to which ferry we should take? I'm thinking the 8:45 Fauntleroy/Southworth Ferry, if it's okay to get there at 9:45, Jim.

Port Angeles, WA(Zone 8b)

Wondering the same. What time are we meeting at Jim's?

(Edited to say): Ooops...never mind. Just reread the D-mail. Duh ~ = p

I would like to go as well, but whether I can would kind of depend on where Dragonfly and Jim's places are? It sounds like one of the places is in or near Port Orchard? Hmm, this could be tough, but I would really like to go...

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

catgal: Jim's is in Port Orchard, so we're planning to take the ferry over to there. The ferry trip is between 40 minutes and an hour, with a 20-minute drive to Port Orchard, so it will require a very early start from Woodinville and Sammamish.

Then we'll drive north to Dragonfly and take the ferry back from Kingston to Edmonds.

Go to maps.google.com and type in Port Orchard, washington to Kingston, washington. It will give you a map of the area, so you can plan.

Snohomish, WA

cat gal, if you would like a ride over let me know.we could meet at my house and take one car and split the fairy cost. Just a suggestion. Still need to find out what time the faries leave.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Gordon -

Check my 2 posts above - the links will take you to the ferry (or fairy - LOL) schedules.

The fairy thing is an old joke with my kids! Can't break myself of it.
What time were we meeting at Jim's/If between 9-10 then the 8:40 would be best.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Funny visual. Makes me laugh.

Port Angeles, WA(Zone 8b)

Exactly how much does a fairy cost these days? I would like to buy a few for my garden!

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

thats funny.

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

I saw a fairy in a catalog and he was $29.95. He looked like a flowery gyspy. Darling

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

I posted this in the wrong place I think. But any way

I have some Centaurea Montana starts, if anyone is interested.

I would like to buy 1 or 2 too LOL

Tills

Whidbey Island, WA(Zone 7a)

Reminds me I need to get my fairies back out to the fairy garden - I take most of them in for the winter. And still some frogs to go to the frog garden, and some children to the childrens' gardens.

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

Yes everyone and everything out to the garden. Spring is finally knocking on the door to be let in and do her thing.
