Like Jane, my PC has been a problem recently, but I've still been out taking pictures. I'll be sorting and editing for ages, but the warblers have been passing through, and I've some more firsts for my life list!

This was taken a few days ago at the creek behind the house. I know it's a warbler, but not sure which. Help appreciated. ;-)

A first. This was my prize "see" of that day. Sorry it's not a nicer photo, 'cause it sure was a pretty little bird. I was awed!

Common Yellowthroat.

Nice shots everyone! Love the color.

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

Great shots!

Wow, Rose you do have an assortment of birds!

tiger, I'm batting for a female Common Yellowthroat. If you have the male you also have the female, it is supposed to be dull. I could only find a pic of a female Connecticut Warbler, where it was mentioned the first sighting was a false alarm caused by the female Common Yellowthroat so they are similar.

Another dull and freezing cold day here, I got some of a Pied Wagtail on Wednesday (also dull!), the pair turned up.

Yesterday there was birds everywhere, many coming to the peanuts for food as it was so cold, but also very dull. There's a very well marked Chaffinch which picks up the dropped bits, through the window and dull as it gets but it looks to have a blue beak.

Mount Pleasant Mills, PA(Zone 5a)

Gosh, great pictures everyone! Rose, you hit the motherlode with all of those great shots.

No pictures to share, but do have some news.

I discovered a Robin's nest within reach of the "camera's eye"; a nest in the equipment shed, not sure what kind yet; a nest in my clothesline post (drat); the cardinal nest in the holly in front of the house, AND, something is nesting in the hole in the house drilled by the woodpecker last year. When I am on the back porch, I can hear all sorts of activity there. When I go hide in the brush with the camera, nothing! Somehow, it knows I am there.

Hope I can get some baby pictures to share.

dellrose..I've seen him upside down on the sack but haven't got a pic of it yet. I 'm wondering if I can get him listed as new species. ( Pseudo -golden Junkfinch maybe)..What say you Resin?

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

Jordan...What kind of Wrens are they and can you get pics of them? That would be great!!

GG...Goodness so many nests so little time! I read somewhere (here I go again) that if you "hide" in a spot take someone with you and have that person leave your hiding spot. The birds evidently can't count and will assume that no one is there!! Really I did read that but haven't been able to get DH to oblige me...maybe your DH will help you out and you can get some pics of your nests and activity!! Let me know if it works!!

Adel...That is too funny...but surely a new species!!

I can just see you granny crouched down in the bushes with your camera stalking the birdies wearing your a.c.u.s (I don't know what that stands for, but my Army son wears them to be camouflaged. LOL

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

dellrose, i keep trying to get pictures of them, but they are too quick. i'll keep trying

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

Rose, your pictures are just amazing.

Tigerlily, I'm amazed at your picture of the Common Yellowthroat. I've had one around for a few days now and the pics that I've taken are just terrible! That's a hard one to capture. Congrats!

GG, I'm excited about your nests! Can't wait to see what pics you get.

Everyone, really great shots!

Tiller, OR(Zone 8a)

I think this is a Nashville Warbler. The image is much lighter and showing color on the LCD, but sure lost a lot in the downloading onto the PC.

Not a new bird for the list, but a new bird or my yard.

Rose, I do not have a DH, but perhaps I can convince one of my friends to assist me in that manner. What the heck, they all think I'm nuts anyway.

OP, I will make sure I am in green to blend in with the leaves, and yes, that is a sight to behold.

Just came in from doing a few chores (it's 80 degrees at noon today)! Quite a rapid change in weather, but cooler tomorrow.

I will do my best to get some baby bird pictures to share.

Adel, I really like that new bird species you have coined. Fits right in with that bird condo on wheels for which you are getting a patent. LOL

Orchard Park, NY

granny, you know you really are nuts when your work colleagues give you a window cling that reads "bonafide bird nerd," . . . . and you like it!!!

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

Tigerlily, your warbler is beautiful and what a great photo!

Adel - I love that copper color the junkfinch is showing! He really likes that bag. Goes to show how important role models are . . . hang with the goldfinch, act like the goldfinch.

Happy Earth Day everybody!

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

It's earth day! Shoot, I have to go plant something!

A Blue Jay displaying himself. He was knocked off the perch by a White-winged Dove who also wanted to display himself. They really do go nuts this time of year!

Two more boring birds but in a pose I like. Mother House Sparrow feeding her baby on the witch's nose! Yes, I have witch garden ornaments. We all have to have our eccentricities now, don't we!

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

Apparently, the weird displays are not just for the boys. Unlike the males, this female Cardinal is hidden in the brush while she is sunning herself.

My My Mrs. Robin, That's an awful big blue egg you have there. LOL
