Extracting your own essential oils/fragrances?

Ive thinking about extracting my trilliums (and other flowers) fragrance. Weve a huge patch and I am addicted to the scent.
Anyone ever done this?
I am gonna use the lard method I think.
Tips? Pointers? Comments?

Let me know how that works out. I've made a lavender salve with jojoba oil and beeswax that smells great but I have never really extracted oil only.
