Wow, Terri (or Terry... which way do you spell it? ^_^)!! Look at those plums! I don't think the birds are eating the plums, since I never even see very little ones - and I look every year! Our leaves aren't nearly as pretty as yours either. You know, the people we bought the house from SAID it was a Mexican Plum, but I've never really checked it out... I wonder if they were wrong. I'll have to do a little investigating in the PlantFiles this afternoon. :-)
The plumeria and banana buds are very exciting! :-) I'll be looking forward to pictures of the flowers/fruit!
Houston Daylily Sale & Nursery Hop May 10th - Planning time!
Actually, it's Teri, a four letter word! We should have worn name tags. Helps me to remember if I have a visual! I don't know how good the leaves look. Leaves always look prettier when they're wet. In the plant files it says that the flowers are white. Mine are very pink. Maybe I'm the one who doesn't really have a Mexican plum! Fruit looks right though.
We used to have one of those, but it died of old age I guess. When we cut it down, I noticed that the wood looked really interesting, so I cut one of the branches lengthwise and the wood was purple and cream. Really shocking! I tried to make a letter opener, but it turned out looking more like a really dangerous knife. Can't remember what I did with it, but I wish I could find it now. It was really pretty.
