The Royal Family is mostly ethnic German.
Mike Freck
It's called the European Deli. It was owned by Germans and they sold it to some English people who now carry food from Germany and England. They have some real nice stuff in there. paul
Hey Dale...we don't say that out loud.... !!! lol
According to most people the second world war is still going...
Yeah i have seen resins bird posts.. seems to know alot..but hey about this crumpet! lol
Hi Dale - well Victoria married a German - thats true, but there has been a deal of dilution since then, so that 50% is down to about 10%!! Our current queen is actually married to a Greek so the younger generation is even less.
And yes "Don't mention the war....." Basil Fawlty.
Crumpet, birds, now why do I see a link???
BTW is this a stool pigeon?
That's a Wood Pigeon . . . but it'll produce plenty of stools . . . don't stand directly underneath it!
Resin
Guano for the garden - I get loads of that!! I believe they make quite an acceptable pie too. My Alaskan friend thinks they are beautiful. Takes all sorts!!
Now this chap is beautiful, I don't even grudge him my fruit buds, his lady is quite cute too, though not as showy. ( I have 3 pair of Chaffinch in the garden)
Resin are you an RSPB member? If so did you get any pictures of the Montgues Harriers thet were breeding about 8 miles from me last summer? I got to see them but was still mid-move so my big lenses were not available.

I saw that pidgeon picture and reached for my gun....
Strangely i am a lover of most animals except them..Hence the gun!
I can see 2 right now sat outside my house...grrrr pulling my garden to pieces and pooping all over the place!
Pidgeons and plants don't mix....nearly as bad as rabbits!
Phicks, No I haven't been to Brandon, but in Old Town we have an English Store. I try mainly to buy American and eat that food as it's all locally produced. It's just that somethings I miss! like Tesco's pure beef sausages - here they put them in pig skins and that's a no no for me.
as for the pigeons, I have mourning doves and ground doves and I love to see them all, the mocking birds attack anything - which I think is hilarious - particularly as they don't eat the seed themselves.
As to the Royal Family, well I told you when I am in UK I live in Windsor, and she is up the hill while I remain down the hill with the rest of the peasants. Although she has been known to give the Royal wave when passing by.
Dont Forget German George
I am definately off the germans and the greeks!
German george? Is that george foreman? lol
Nope Was your King in 1776 he could not speak English LOL
Wrong George - George I (1660-1727) was the German one, from Hanover. However he was also the great grandson of James I of England who was actually a Scot. You see most of the crowned heads of Europe have or had their roots back in the British Isles. You can't pick where you stop going backwards you know!!!
By 1776 we had George III great grandson of George I born in England and with English as his first language. Thats the George who was the longest reigning king we have had and who was a "Bit Odd" by the end.
None of them however are the source of the rhyme:-
Georgie Porgie Pudding and Pie
Kissed the girls and made them cry,
When the boys came out to play
Georgie Porgie ran away!
Here endeth the history lesson!!
Was down in Newbury last week and totally amazed at the number of swans on the Kennet. As swans are the Royal Bird and technically belong to the queen - she's the only one alllowed to eat them - they get counted every year at Swan-Upping. The Uppers are going to have their work cut out this year!!

We Have Lots Of Swans Here The Homeless and The Winos eat Theam LOL
I think Geese Are or use to be
Here they belong to the monarch - though I understand she may be giving them up (and not just for lent)
Are swans a turkey substitute in merry old England?
Nope, turkeys are a goose substitute in North America ;-)
BTW, goose tastes much nicer!
Resin
Paul, they have been looking for you and the Florida Gardenening chit chat No.27.
If you go to Windsor (and I do) The swans there on the Thames are a majestic sight. They do belong to the Queen and rumour has it she comes down very early in the morning to count them! She also likes welsh corgi's.
I don't think we need to substitute anything in England we have all the freshest birds their.
Geese use to be a Big Item here back in the 1700 but as people moved more in to the wilds wild turkey became the main holiday food as a kid i had goose a lot my dad raised lots and turkeys to
Yes geese can be tasty, but I do like duck, crispy shredded chinese style with mandarin pancakes! I haven't seen anything like it here, and I have never seen duck in the supermarket so if you know where I can get some without catching them live - that would be good. cos I have the recipe and used to make it when I was in UK.
Resin cover your ears! All this talk of eating birds... not sure who said the queen ate corgi's though?????!!!
The chinese near here serves crispy duck that tastes like lemon pancakes..Its fantastic!
Don't joke..i ate dog once in china!
Woof Woof LOL
I wonder what part of the dog they served you with - probably the tasty soft part!!!! I think I will turn vege!
As with most plants, the bark is inedible.
Publix and Winn Dixie carry duck in the frozen section. Super Walmarts has them too Paul
Now thats funny Resin...took me a second look to get it! lol
They Eat Yellow Dogs In Nam Use to see theam in the Marets when i was over there Paul
Here, they eat the under dogs.
A Knot Garden! Is that yours Dale?
Dale where did you get a picture of my house and Grounds ? Paul
Paul, I shall go to Publix and Winn DIxie, both of which are close by and have a look in the frozen section. Also found an Oriental market on Orange Blossom Trail, I shall have a look in there too.
To all of you in England - there are no more Orange Blossoms left on the Trail, but I have got a lot of citrus plantations up the road!
