By 1776 we had George III great grandson of George I born in England and with English as his first language. Thats the George who was the longest reigning king we have had and who was a "Bit Odd" by the end.

Was down in Newbury last week and totally amazed at the number of swans on the Kennet. As swans are the Royal Bird and technically belong to the queen - she's the only one alllowed to eat them - they get counted every year at Swan-Upping. The Uppers are going to have their work cut out this year!!
