New to dave's love gardening!!!!
I used to live in Port Jeff Station, just down the road from youse. :) I have to echo what was said earlier, though, these DG folks are TERRIBLE enablers. First you start with a couple of crappy plants from Wally World...then you're getting excited about compost...then you're digging up most of your nasty lawn to replace it with Real Plants...then you start fantasizing about where you're going to put the chickens...oh, it does not stop.

Clem, I'm late but I'm here! I'm sure you'll love it here on the North East Forum, where the nuts hang out. (Who was it who made those T-shirts?) We're having, well, Kassia is having a party on June 28 (?) in Framingham MA and everyone will be there. You can bring your extra plants, too, but be ready to leave with more than you brought.

I'm right with you looking for colleges for MY daughter! Is yours going Fall 09 or Fall 08? The funny thing is, she's not going to any of the places we went to look at, she's going somewhere entirely different. LOL, kids!!

Home - this college doesn't have many dorm rooms, only 170 freshmen! She's more likely to have housemates than live in a dorm. Maybe she'll camp in a pup tent. TERRIFYING, I repeat. Carrie

Yeah - twice a week. And it isn't very advanced - particularly in comparison with how well pretty much everything else here is done.
Clemen - no, i don't have to go stay in a hotel. i meant, i got to stay in the Garden City Hotel for a night. It was really beautiful. (Or am i just confused? There is a famous historic hotel there, right?) i just mentioned it when someone said something about the mall. i know about Garden City because of the hotel...
(An artist my DH works with was performing at a benefit there, and was given a suite. It was only used briefly before the performance, as the singer was going home that night - and offered it to us, since it was paid for and super nice! We lived in NYC at the time, so i hopped on the LIRR and off i went...)
The original Garden City Hotel was gorgeous. It's been rebuilt since then but I don't know the year.
A new company just bought it and it will be renovated again. Clemen
