Hi Clemen! Welcome aboard! ☺
Welcome, you'll love it here.
Thank you guys!!!!
Welcome to Dave's Clemon, I know you will like it here. I have to warn you though we are terrible enablers so you may indeed have to start thinning to make room for your new acquisitions! Do you have any particular types of plants that you like? What zone are you in?
Hi Clemen - welcome to Dave's
Al
Welcome to the Northeast Forum, Clemen!! It's a fun place to be! Eleanor
Hi Clemen - welcome to Dave's Garden and the Northeast forum. You have more gardening nuts ON and NEAR Long Island than you think!!
Hi and welcome! You found the perect place to find more plant lovers like yourself :)
Welcome Clemen. You'll love DG - especially the NE forum! Please post often.
Victor
I echo what everyone has written ... welcome!
This Forum IS top-shelf and the membership is the best, not to mention, friendly, helpful, generous, beautiful inside and out, funny, quirky, and always non-exclusive.
You are going to love us!!
I floated the non-exclusive idea with my wife. Ten days in the hospital...
Welcome, Clemen! We lived in Rockville Centre before coming out here in '91. If you're ever planning to be out this way please let me know.
Welcome, Clemen,
This is just the forum for the crazy about plants and gardening gardeners from the Northeast. Dave has got crazy about gardening forums for all around the country and abroad. Someone here loves the kinds of plants you grow where you grow them. I get down to Bellerose, Queens every now and again to visit in-laws and so I check out the gardening down there. I am also from NJ as well. We have sort of adopted Wisconsin to the northeast forum because of Al and annexed part of Canada. Have a great time with us!
Martha {from the Boston area}
Welcome - i have been to Garden City - i remember it being really lovely!

Rockville Centre is just 3 golf courses and 3.6 miles from Garden City, which is lovely and has a wonderful history.
Garden City has to be good for gardeners, no??
So is the Garden State!!
Martha
Even Secaucus??
It's so hard to believe the New Jersey, "The Garden State", is considering eliminating their Department of Agriculture.
Welcome Clemen!
It's the Governor's choice to save money, Sherrie.
Welcome Clemen to DG and the NE Forum. Are you an addict too? Welcome to our group therapy. :)
Guys love you all, had a rough day and could not read all of your wonderfull replies, but will do tomorrow. I cannot believe all of your love and support! Without reading I know I am in the right place, Silly silliy. Thanks to all of my new friends, and promise to read it tomorrow!!! Love, Clem
Welcome to DG (as we lovingly call it). I'm kinda new here to this forum...kinda not. I guess you could say I'm an old fogy who's come around again. Just like anything else, if you keep it around long enough, it'll come back into style.
You'll love it here, I can honestly say I believe that DG is the best place on the web...not just cause I like it here, but because I think it's really true!
I'm going to soak these old sore muscles now...
Well all I was able to relaxed a little tonight, had some sewer back up problem from the =wonderful village of Garden city! Would you believe the village blame the problem on us 'cause we called a plumber before calling "the police" as they said. Any way, the basement is clean as they say but I do not dare go down there, will call my insurance company and let them handle the problem with my Village, they cause the problem. ASIDE from that, now you knwo who I am lol, Yes I love plants, I love all of you for answering and acknowledging me. Victor, Garden City sounds like a gardeners city, but guess what?? These people love EVERGREENS and landscapers, not people like Dave's gardeners! NGAM, yes I am an addict. I could hardly sleep last night just thinking about reading and going on the site! heartjoy, your comments are beautiful, Amy, yes GC is lovely, you have mansions and cottages but NO Silly people like us!!. We have a nice newspaper, Garden City News, the paper comes out once a week, sometimes it gives you more news than NewsdaY!!! Pirl, I have some friends in Southold, it is lovely there, near the water, I bet you have beautiful plants. Anyway guys, Love all of your comments, hope to establish nice friends. I am sending a picture of my beautiful brugmansia in bloom Summer 2007. Enjoy, Clemen
tetleytuna, I have lots of perennials, I will start thinning this week, they are just starting to come up. Will let you know what i have if you are interested!!! Clemen
welcome cmdelg.... victor don't forget camden and newark
:)
Nice brugs!
Oh, so you're a Bruggie, huh? LOL! I love those things, but after losing so many trying to overwinter them I just gave up till we move to a warmer zone. I told DH nothing below zone 8 because I read they will die to the ground but come back in the spring. Sheesh, what a thing to base where you move to on...but that's us gardeners for ya!! And, I just decided yesterday that whatever home we move into HAS to have lots of south facing windows for the indoor plants...my south facing windows are all blocked by my porch roof right now. Oh, the horror of it!!!
Now, THAT'S the way to choose a new home!!
I just had to chuckle when I read that, heathrjoy.
Martha, I thought Ma was much colder than NY, I still do not see my lilacs yet, But they started to open today. Pay me a visit when you go to Bellerose, I am very close to it and used to live in the town next door Floral Park! Clemen
Welcome cmdelg from me and the cats.
i worked for a ballet company for a while in NYC, and we toured a show to a bunch of NY area schools (usually 2 per day) - we did one show in Bellerose and one in Floral Park. (Of course, on different days!) It was very nice.
Amethystsm, do you remember the school if Floral PAr. The elementary school at the west end is very picturesque, huge trees and nice setting! Clemen
i think so. As i recall, that was one of the extremely lovely ones (along with someplace in Westchester - Mamaroneck?), and Bellerose was slightly more urban... But they are like right next to each other - the towns imean.
We stopped on some little main street to get fast food where it was really pretty, little grassy triangles with benches, etc...
(This was 5 years ago i just realized! yikes.)
Welcome, welcome! You'll love it here!
We're getting younger not older lol!
