BJ at peanut feeder - which everyone was after this morning and I still haven't filled!
DAILY PICS VOLUMN 89
Thats great sybil!!! Your so lucky to have them! Thanks for sharing the pics w/ us!
Beautiful kaperc!!! I so hope to have some Orioles this year!
Pell, I'm always glad to see them, because the feeder is just outside the window and they visit all day long.
That must be wonderful! You obviously are great host! :-)
Don't know about that, but I always put the feeder in the same place and they come looking for it. We also have two fountains and a pond nearby. I usually hear them before I see them, because they make a "clickety clackety" sound. Yesterday I saw a great flurry of activity outside and when I looked I could see them in the big salvia nearby - wish I knew where the nest was!
Sybil, got a really good chuckle out of the pileated head from behind the snowbank. Just a hoot.
Pell, love the wing shot on the robin.
Nice hooded oriole kaperc. I saw wan in Cabo San Lucas a few years ago and not since of course. Very pretty.
Well, not much picture wise today. I'm outside mostly. I just cleaned off the back covered patio and set up the furniture so I could sit out here with the camera. The usual suspects at the feeders. The finches have nearly emptied the sock so I have to run to F&F today for refills. But mostly just enjoying the weather with my boy dog.
Mrs_Ed, we saw orioles in Cabo as well. Not our kind of place, but it was a company thing. We happened to have an early dinner at a small outdoor cafe with a group of palm trees. We watched nesting orioles throughout dinner and had a great time. Will try to get more pictures and catch the female, too, but I really need to clean my window! :-)
Same here! Small world! :-)
Nice pic of the Blue Jay GM!
adel,Nice pics; our Junco's are still around.
hahaha. that flicker on the transformer is priceless!!
Well, regarding Cabo, it's different to so many people. We know some people that never leave the resort. We on the other hand stay in smaller places in town and go fishing a couple times. Oddly enough, other than water birds, I've only seen sparrows, hummingbirds and the hooded oriole… plus turkey vultures and roadrunners of course. I went to the estuary in SJD to see more, but no luck.
The next time we get money for a vacation though, I want to go to puerta vallarta so I can have better birding experience.
Sybil I love your Pileated woodpeckers, they must really feel welcome in your yard, Neat that they keep showing up.
Rose, the snow has gone down a lot in the pass few days, We had rain and mild weather, and suppose to be mild for the next couple of days. All Good. Wish I could send you some Bohemian Waxwing, but I don't have much to spare.;0) Love your shot of the white crown sparrow. And Pelle your Robin is a handsome dude. I think, the poor doves are kind of clumsy in flight, and they fall prey easy to those birds.
Kaperc, I've only seen the Oriole once here, I didn't even knew, that they could be found around here then. This year I plan to set feeders for them early.
Male hooded(?) oriole
Yep.
Resin
adel- Dark-eyed Junco - I didn't know they looked like that! Is that different from a regular liitle black and grey Junco?
Hi sybil, I'll let adel tell you what form he has but there are 6 forms of
Dark-eyed Juncos. :-)

Sybil Most of the Juncos in this area are the Oregon, they tend to stay here year round.
Well, who knew? I have the Dark-eyed Junco slate form.
