DAILY PICS VOLUMN 89

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

Hi everyone! We came from here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/830341/

I took this one of a Downy Woodpecker this morning when it was as hot and steamy as a summer day. Tonight, it's windy and cold!

Another Cedar Waxwing attempt. This is kind of a test to see what a cropped version of a cropped version will look like!

I love your Bluebird shots. I'd never seen a bluebird until last summer when I saw a Mountain Bluebird. You're so lucky to have them!

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Thanks Elphaba, for starting the new thread. there was some fantastic pics, on the other thread, fun stuff too.
I can now officially say Spring, has sprung in our neck of the woods. The Robins arrived today, Yayyyy And the cowbirds have shown up also, not so yay. My yard host a big variety of black birds. Starlings, grackles, cowbirds and crows, but now, this little Orange birds, brought color in my life. Had the Bohemian Waxwings at the table this afternoon. And at Supper time, someone else was hungry, and came for din din. A Sharp- Shinned Hawk.

Elphaba, your crop version of the crop, is very nice. Nanny your Bluebird, is pretty.

Here's another pic of the Hawk

Nice pics burn! I've been scanning the tree tops looking for the Cedar Waxwings.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

That's a nice looking hawk there! Why won't mine pose like that for me....

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

And of course my Robin.

Thanks you two, The Bohemian WW are really surprising me this year. I've never seen them come this often, must be lack of available food. The crabapple seem to be the last resort, for them. The Robins were eating from them also today.
Nanny that Hawk had only one thing on his mind, hunting, He didn't give a hoot whether I was there or not. He was perch on top of the pole we had made for the feeders, and he was scanning the junipers Hedge for birds. He swoop in after one of them. Don't know if he got it, because I saw them fly by the side of the house.

Looks like a Coopers got a Mourning Dove in my yard lately;I saw the pile of feathers.

Blythe, CA(Zone 10b)

Yep, Pelletory, I finally got out to get a few pics.
Heres mother owl sitting on her nest.. looks like maybe she had a dove for breakfast also.

Burn I wish you and Elphaba would send a few of those Waxwings my way...I have a stiff neck looking up trying to spot one! I am happy that you have Robin's now and hope that means your snow is gonna melt!

Nanny...Your little BB's are so sweet! I can't believe the one on the previous thread stuck her tongue out at you! Too funny!

Betterbloom...nice pics of the beautiful Owl!

We had rain all day yesterday and overcast all day today...yukky yukky!! This Starling was enjoying his dinner when I took this pic...not good light today!

Thank you Pelle...the WC Sparrow was the only one I didn't have to lighten up or mess with...love it when that happens! Geez I hope the sun shines tomorrow. If it doesn't I'm going to the tanning booth!!

Pelletory, no babies yet that I saw. It seems like they hatched last year closer to summer.

Marlton, NJ

Well we'll really be looking forward to seeing them after they hatch, meanwhile their such gorgeous birds!

Seems like everything eats those poor Mourning Doves, doesn't it? Maybe that's why they are in "mourning". Here's a Goldfinch from yesterday.

What a great shot of the hawk!

Things are pretty quiet at the bird feeders here. Spring has sprung the snow away and the frost out of the ground.

The redpolls have finally disappeared. I have been concerned most of the winter for the goldfinches that stayed here. There were lots of them at the feeders until the redpolls showed up and slowly they went away. I am hoping they didn't starve.

This shot is bad. Can anyone recognize this bird?I'm thinking it might be a goldie.

Betterbloom!!! So good to see you again. I'm looking forward to your owl and hummingbird pictures!

Thanks for the fresh and warm pics GP! I envy your weather and your Buntings but I think it is time you sent some of both to us in the Mid-West! I had no idea the RBW would eat oranges...I must put some on the tree for them as well as the Orioles!

Sybil...Sure looks like a Goldie to me and I'm glad your snow has finally left and spring has arrived!

OMG...A Female BlueBird just landed right outside the window in the backyard. The early bird got her worm!! I think she is the one I saw fighting with another Female BB yesterday.

The sun is out...yes...all is good! I am so sun driven when it doesn't shine I am a different person!! I must be solar powered!!

Bella Vista, AR(Zone 6b)

gardenpom, I love the indigo buntings and they seem to be getting all their "blue-ness" back. I hope I will have some here again this summer. It has been a week or so since I have seen a Junco....birds are moving around....hopefully making room for the buntings...

Marlton, NJ

Very nice pics GP! I like the Red-bellied Woodpecker eating the orange!

Hi sybil, That looks like an American Goldfinch to me too;nice pics!

Brainerd, MN

I had so hoped! :)

Brainerd, MN

Quite a morning in the backyard! First, here is a shot from yesterday of the last of the snow out back - I had hoped to catch some of the geese flying through but missed everyone of them.
