Trying to re-establish your settings on the homepage ...

Charlotte, NC(Zone 8a)

I would like to know the steps to take in order to have the quickest way to "reinstall" my settings on my homepage, etc. so it will be like it was before it changed. Next I would like it on our homepage, easily seen, to use when I have to. (in the tabs at the top clearly marked)

I have looked and looked and can't find it. Isn't there a way you can display it so I can just click on it and take care of it without having to go to this forum or some archives somewhere? These kinds of navigation should be just as easy as getting to the forums. Thank you.

Unfortunately there's no "reset" button...if things got really, really messed up admins might have a way to put it back to some sort of default configuration, but it probably wouldn't be the way you had it before. All you can really do is try to remember what things you had in what order on your home page before, then when you go into your preferences think about what you wanted to show up at the top of the page and make sure it's in position 1, etc.

How do you get the advertisements off the homepage? We were able to selectively take them off when they first started the ads? Now I don't know how to do it. My settings got messed up due to a reset here at my end, but not by me. Boo!!

I guess I'll keep trying to work on the preference page!! 8-) Thanks.

Karin, I checked your profile and it looks like you were successful in disabling the ads. Pleas let us know if we can be of further assistance ;o)

This morning I ended up with advertisements after I thought I reset everything yesterday. I do not have an automatic "enter" anymore and it won't reset automatically. It goes back to not knowing who I am and the advertisements show up on my homepage twice in a row before I can login (which it used to come right up). My computer guy wasn't here last night to goof it up! I still need help with this. It's not right.

It sounds like you've got some settings on your computer that need to be adjusted :o)

You will see ads when you are logged out (the system can't recognize you, or know you're a subscriber until you are logged in.)

For help with adjusting your computer's or browser's settings, your best bet is the computer talk forum: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/computer/all/

I bet that will work. I have confidence in that computer talk forum, yes I do.
