Anyone up for a PDN Open House/Roundup?

Alright everyone!

Maybe it's just Spring Fever, or maybe it's time to start thinking Roundup time! :) We had such a blast last year, everyone was so laid back and fun.

Because the Southern Appalachian Roundup is May 3rd, that weekend would not be good for everyone, but here are the remainder of the Open House dates for Spring and Summer:

Spring 2008
Friday, May 9 8am-5pm
Saturday, May 10 8am-5pm
Sunday, May 11 1pm-5pm

Summer 2008
Friday, July 11 8am-5pm
Saturday, July 12 8am-5pm
Sunday, July 13 1pm-5pm

Friday, July 18 8am-5pm
Saturday, July 19 8am-5pm
Sunday, July 20 1pm-5pm

Thoughts anyone?????

If you tell me what a "Roundup" is and what "PDN" stands for I will tell ya if I am game or not! LOL

You can acess lots of info about PDN at the website, but believe me...you won't have any idea until you tour the extensive gardens there!

COOL! I am there!

I vote for May but that is because it is my birthday and anniversary so I would have a better chance of getting Don to drive to Raleigh using the pouty-smiley face. It is a God given given gift I admit. I don't know too many people who can pout and smile at the same time. It works wonders on Don!

But...I will go anytime. We are going to visit my family in Boston May 17th-24th so I won't be around then, other than that I am home.

I would vote for May, too 'cause it's the closest date, but Trop and I will be at the Sou. App. Round Up on May 3. It will def. need to be one of the summer dates. Come join us at the May one in the mts, then you'll be a veteran of ru's by summer!

I would go but i will be gone by the 9th for the summer, back to MI.

I would be interested this year if it is on a Sat or Sun, July would be better but I would need to know which date before I can give a def. yes/no.

May sounds like the better date, planting-wise, but since its so close to the RU in Asheville, I vote for July......I'm ok either way, though...

I got about a 1/3 of my loot planted yesterday on my day off...between running inside and checking on the kids home sick - cameron with strep throat and katelyn with a middle ear infection...they slept alot the last two days so that helped! they feel better thankfully (meaning they are back to their old cranky selves..oh wait thats me thats cranky - they are the sweet ones LOL)

I'll call PDN and see if we can have use of the deck again...That was way cool-even though it was a very hot day, lol! I'll check on the shelter,too. Should be ok for the 12...I'll let you know asap.

oh man why am I getting all excited again like EL and RU...I got it bad...I need to see a doctor...LOL

If you find a specialist, lemme know! We'll go together. I could bring you some plants, LOL!!!

oh red, hate to hear about the kids, my throat has been killing me too, poor Cameron. you're welcome to stay here for the concert, even if it is a bit out of the way...I could be really cool and offer to chaffeur/DD...lol

Bev, if you get confirmed at PDN, I'll contact the parks dept about the shelter if you'd like, I hate for you to do all the work...heck I even didn't get around to the thread, talk about ultimate slack here.

Gotta go over there to get the shelter. It's a couple of minutes from home, so don't worry:) I totally appreciate the help, though. It'll be needed soon, no doubt!

the best medicine...more plants LOL ...I was thrilled to see BonJons June Sunset blooming tonite when I got home from work...too cool and I haven't even planted it yet (thought since it was so close to bloom I outta leave well enough alone LOL)

Kara - I'll take you up on that DD offer - heck I'd buy you a ticket to the concert if you wanna DD LOL Darrin is thinking of coming even though Journey is def. not his kinda music...but I think he thinks it'd be a hoot to watch mom get down LOL

I have lots of crazy plants. Things grow better here at the coast than they do in Raleigh and my stuff is going wild.

Can you all make a Sept. trip down here on a Saturday, to our place for the day. I'll cook.

I am just off 55 hwy on the way to Oriental, in a small place called Kennels Beach.

Hey Lavina ... so far work is OK ... my contract just got renewed through the end of the year and (knock on wood) I should be reasonably safe for a while since I've managed to acquire a few "strategic skills". But overall things are not going great so you were right to get out when you did. Good luck!

Hey Lavina,

you can ususally find them at most grocery stores near the frozen breakfast items. The company is Morningstar farms and it's a green package....they have all kinds of fake burgers, chicken, bacon, sausage...lol...Ed would just love it I'm sure.

Sept. at your place, I'm there! can't wait already cause I know I 'll probably be able to take a beach trip alone if it involves much to do with plants :)

lol! Absolutely, a must have for camping. The boys weren't complaining one bit about them late night...

now that shows how tired I was...I meant to say "still burning" in the fire LOL and U R right...late nite feasts always taste great....especially by the fire light and with sailor jerry in tow...
