Such beauty for me to be enjoying while sitting here at the hospital with DH - just lovely . . . and what a treat to see things from zone 9,oneangl (sorry if I messed up your screen name!). Gives me hope!
Whats blooming outside your door
Carole,
I hope all is well, it fills me with pleasure to brighten you day, sometimes we forget and take for granted the little things in life you are helping us to remember.
God bless and prayers to you and yours,
Carla
Murmur ~ How's everything going over there? You guys doing okay?
All things considered, all is going well - the doc says Steve is well ahead of the game! However, we don't have the pathology reports back yet. Be glad when that part is over with.
Earlier I looked out the window here at the UW Medical Center and saw some gals weeding . . . how I would have loved to have run down there and help them!!!!
Keep those fabulous pictures coming, please!!!
Carole ~ Maybe you could work out a trade with UW...you know, "will garden for medical care" kinda thing. I agree, there is not much that is more therapeutic than sitting on my butt pulling the little teeny (or great big) weeds out, listening to the birds and frogs and sounds of the area. Especially when it's sunny and warm. Maybe a little "mental weeding" would help?
Carole,
I would love to go out and get more pictures, however I will wait until this dark thundering cloud with the hail coming from it , get past the Marysville area...lol I was out with the dogs or I would have thought it was people bringing in their big garbage cans...lol I ran inside when the hail began as did the dogs, what a sight that must have been, if anyone were to be watching...lol
Hey NW gordon Did you go to Naylor Creek? Jack Is great and they have wonderful shade plants. What else did you get. Heidi
Hi Heidi! I went on line and got three ariseamas and a brunnera called Silver Wings. I have never heard of it and I have Looking Glass so I had to have it!!
a. nepenthoides, a. sikokianum patterned leaf, and a. griffithii, the one I have wanted the most. Like the curled spathe kinda alien looking. I could drop serious money there!! But I would rather blow it at Dragonfly!!!
Good wishes and a speedy recovery Steve and hang in there Carol!!
Totally cheating but still very nice!! Spring where on earth are you?
I hope those are all yours, and you didnt go out a buy them and plant them to make use all drool. LOL
Gordon, Spring is on, uh, Spring break?
Spring broke?
Spring sprung?
Spring fever? Spring roll? Spring fling?
I agree, got to be one of them. LOL

with five you get spring roll...
On a spring board, with spring cheese.
And no I didn't buy those plants, well I did , its just an old pic. That whole area is diffrent now.Funny how my garden changes all the time, but my living room hasn't changed in years!!
With a spring in my step, I bid you all adieu as I spring off to bed cuz I gotta workwork tomorrow, on what is purportedly going to be a very nice day! BLLLLCCCCCKKKKKK! = p
Wahoo! I have a new camera, I figured out how to use it, and I found a pre-existing thread for photos! Sit back and get yourselves some coffee. If you take a nap during my picture show, don't tell me about it. I'm pretending that spring is here. Don't burst my bubble. These things are blooming in my garden because they think it's spring. Let's not tell them.
This is Hellebore 'goldfinch'.
Very cool pics pixy!! I don't know that last one but I got to get one!! Any chance you remember?
Great pics Pixy, glad you got a camera again. And I'm with Gordon on that last one, but I want more than one, thats a have to have.
Sun today haay, and a day off.
Love that color.
hi...
the pic doesnt do it justice....i like it becasue of the deep color and the narrow leaves... different from the other rhodies
Hi Bea -
Nice picture of some floral sunshine!
Looks like a nice warm day you had there: gives those of us further north a taste of what is to come...
Kayte.. It was just aweful in Silverton this past week. Rain, hail, snow, thunder & lightning. Been scrambling these past two days to get some planting done. Frost this morning..thank goodness the sun came out as the ground was frozen. Still not use to the weather up here yet. Spent 49 years in SF bay area ,this being my second season in Oregon. I must learn to be patient with the weather changes... still never certain what will survive the night!
Cute cats by the way and your yard is pretty...

Bea - where in the Bay area? I used to live in SF (70's), but also south of there too.
Too many people, but what a great gardening climate.
Silverton is near Salem, right?
All very lovely, and fun to see all these colors. It's amazing what can bloom through the unseasonable snow we've had.
Tilly, that's an incredible hellebore! What is it?
I'll add my little bit. These calendula are in my classroom garden by the south facing wall. They have been blooming on and off through the Winter
AARRGGHH! All the beautiful colors! Hopefully I can take some pix on Friday. I have lots of activity in the greenery department, but not much in the color world. Little teeny bits. . .maybe by Friday ~ *sigh*
Born in San Mateo but have lived in Moraga during college,Novato ,San Anselmo,Concord,SF(early 80's marina district ),Hayward and lastly Antioch. All sides of the bay covered. I do miss being able to garden year round down there, but I do not miss the crazy life living in the Bay Area& the cost of living. Silverton is about 30 mins east of Salem in the Willamette Valley. Beautiful place..wish I had made the move sooner.
