I can see the sun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Heading out now to rake, clean the shed and leaf blow the garden, edge the new beds and be happily exhausted. Well, that is the plan. Patti

Enjoy... I will be a bit behind you.... but looking good for this afternoon
43 and going to 52. I'll be out in 10 minutes.
52, sunny and beautiful! Got a good amount done and will be back out after lunch.
nice Victor... says it's 46 here now but my outside therm says 59... which i know is wrong... but after lunch i am heading out now too!
Maybe the thermometer is in the sun?? Sunrise here is now 6:27, sunset 7:29. Not bad!
49°F right now and struggling to reach 50.
It's a beautiful, cloudless day.
Can I really rake all of the winter mulch off the plants now, or should I wait?
I'm a bit over-cautious, you might guess.
Victor I put the sensor on the window... i think it picks up heat from inside the house.... no sun on that side of the house till right before it sets
I have a few of those ones that attach to the window with the lcd display. They always read high.
yep same kind
It is still lovely outside, but I am done in for the day. I raked and edged and pruned until I was beyond tired. I didn't get to the shed, but I got more done than I thought I could. Tomorrow is suppose to be even nicer. I have another big bed of sweet ferns to prune and one bed to that really needs the leaf blower, but most of the others are done.
We ordered a whole truck of mulch (25 yards) to deliver to us directly from off island yesterday. That will save us some big bucks. I am having it delivered the first week in May. We have the lawn mowing guys coming to help put it down so I won't have to do it myself. Patti
OMG we got to 55 today!!!! It was wonderful and i'm headed back out, the sun is still out...so am I.
It's 55 right now and it's been a beautiful day. I even got our first lettuce of the season planted.
It's 62 here now and sunny. Too bad I spent the day shopping with a friend. Her son is getting married in FL at the end of May but the bridal shower is this weekend up here and she needed an outfit. This thing took up my whole afternoon. She wants me to help with gift wrapping etc. tomorrow but i declined due to nice, gardening weather! Maybe if it rains Friday.
Still April here as it is snowing - maybe some slush by morning.
Oh - what a bummer, Al. Hit about 62 or 63 here today. Nice again tomorrow.
I spent 2 hrs. raking & another hour shoveling it into the pickup for tomorrow's dump run--I know what you mean about being beyond tired, Patti. However--lots more to do--weather forecast tonight says rain showers Fri-Tues with wet snow in the higher hills--that would be us! I have several more gardens to rake, brush to pile on truck, dianthus to trasplant etc. But it's what we've been waiting for these last 6 months! Candyce--only take half the mulch off--when night temps are steadier, take the rest off.
just a few minutes left to this day- but it was great- got some real clean up done- and enjoyed the sun-
bigcityal, i felt real bad for you having snow.
mrsj - I knew I talked about that with someone, but couldn't remember who - my memory gets worse every day!!! Thanks for the reminder. I wrote down your screen name and made a note that you are from Baldwinsville. I couldn't even remember what thread I posted that question on. I looked for it last night but couldn't find it - obviously I didn't check the weather thread!!!!!!! Yes, those rolling hills and farm land are beautiful in that area. I miss them also. Too bad many of those farms are going out of business!! The pic is of the day my family had their farm auction and now even the land has been sold. Eleanor
Yesterday turned out so beautiful. Got all eight trees planted, will mulch and get a pic today. So far it is dark and overcast and cold. Not much wind and 26 degrees. I hope it improves.
Sunny this morning and then showers tonight.
Hi of 68* lows in the 40's. the grass will green over the next two days of rain.
I'v been mixing potting soil and compost and filling twelve 24" containers and 6, 10 - 12 " getting ready for annuals in another month. Plus the cannas and caladium's i'm forcing
41 and still waiting for the sun to shine down here.
its not as sunny as I had hoped.---the day is new, maybe by 9:00. I had hoped to finish the containers, and sweep the deck.
37 and getting overcast now. Was very sunny at 7.
Well, I just discovered that my "AccuWeather.com" sucks. I look out and it is mostly clear with the sun out just a few high light clouds and 40 degrees, but Accu says it is 34 and with light fog. I can see for miles. No fog. I go to another site and they have it correct. But the weather doesn't suck. Thrilled. Out for another day of work. I may get to the shed, but I WILL finish the bed edging.
My spring garden time has gotten precious. We have decided to go to New Orleans to see DS who moved there in Jan. It is his birthday on April 20th so we are going for the week and will get to 2 days of Jazz Fest. Therefore I have to get everything in apple pie order before we go. I will miss some of my bulbs, but I get to see my best work ever, DS. I called my Mom who is now 93 and lives in Tulsa, and is always game for a trip, so she and my DB (favorite one) are going to join us for the first part of the week. Patti
Have a great trip bbrook--
Just as I thought the sun is shinning and one of the two Anemone sylvestr(Brent and Beckys) is comming along, the other one is not doing much but the season isn't over.
Have a great trip Patti. I know where your fog and low thirties weather is; at my house. Should burn off and warm up later, I hope. :)
Sounds like fun, Patti. Does DS have a cooking job there?
Very raw here but I have to get outside anyway.
Thank you, RobinDog.
I can't wait to get some of the yucky stuff off the garden. Today looks like a good day for it, as Victor's weather won't be here for us until tomorrow.
Right now:
37°
Wind: none
Humidity: 70%
Dewpoint: 28°
Pressure: 30.30 in. and rising
Windchill: 37°
and the sun is trying to break through the high thin cloud cover
clouding up.Wind comming up, front is comming in. Temp high 60's
misty rain, wish it would come down steady for a good soak.
