Is this possible? (go to first new message in thread)

A quick question for the admins (and apologies if it's been asked & answered before, I'm pretty new here): Does the forum software permit you to allow an icon or link, which would take you to the first unread post in a thread, to be automatically created for each thread on each forum? Many other forums have this nice little feature. It does require setting a cookie for the forum user, so that the server knows when you last clicked a thread.

We have that feature, Up there where it says "Watch Thread, Mark as unread, Print, Post reply and Skip to New"

The skip to new takes you to the newest unread post on a thread :))

I think you are lookihg for the Skip to new feature. When you open a thread you will see it above the first post. Click it and it takes you to the first new unread post.

Ah, great, thanks!

I know the drill as I have been here a long time. However, I go straight to the bottom. Have to scroll back up until I find the last post I read.

Is there any chance you're double clicking on the thread title instead of single clicking? Or clicking on it, then getting impatient when it's slow to load and clicking on the title again? Both of those things can sometimes make the computer think you've already been on that page and then skip to new will take you to the bottom of the page. I think there may also be a setting for your mouse where it makes a single click work like a double click, so if you're not doing either of the above it could be in the mouse settings. Or you might try using a different browser and see if that helps.

Often when I change threads the computer thinks it has to try & search for a virus, so I sit & watch the little green square at the bottom of the screen--very annoying. One search should deal with the entire site. Computer thinks it is careful. What I think is not ladylike.
