I better start dieting. Patti
Hey, I didn't know this forum existed!
ok, I am in!!!!
this sounds like lots of fun... seriously the chocolate place is the BEST!
HOLD ON!!!!! I can't get back in April!!!! If you guys go in April, then you have to promise to do it all over again in late May!!!
Yes, Sarah........it's the BEST!!
Good move, Kassia!!! It'll be worth the drive!!!
^_^
Could we possibly do it in late May?
That would give me more time to save.
I'm very flexible about when- sarah
Late May works for me!! I'll be back by then.
WhooHoo!!
sounds great to me- sarah
Wonderful, Sherrie......we'll have a great time! I think Kassia, Patti and Booj will come too! We can call this the Pre-RU in prep for the Big One at Kassia's. ^_^
Maybe 'RU Ready?'
You are always so quick with the clever comments, Victor!! Did you have a nice weekend??? Too bad you can't take a spin up to NH to join us!
i can imagine 2 different "tours" one is the westmoreland one -inspired gardener nursery-books for patti- burdicks in walpole, over the river to vt. and to harlows in westminster-west, then to walkers in dummerston.... something like that
THEN..there's this other area that would be good too... going to Mason Hollow nursery in Mason- for lunch at Pickity Place- which is a sort of herb farm/ nursery/ restaurant that serves a daily menu for lunch featuring their herbs.. then to Uncanoocuc (sp??) nursery, possibly.. or House by the side of the Road..gosh! we could really live it up!
Sarah - where exactly is Mason in relation to Keene? I am not familiar with it.
Well- that whole circuit would be in a different area- From Keene, it is east- From here I would go rt 101 almost to Wilton, NH, then south from there. It would take me almost an hour to get there. Here is a website for Mason Hollow- http://www.masonhollow.com/
Uncanoonuc Mountain Perennials is in Goffstown, which is north of Mason..... (no website)
they are both great nurseries!
And for Pickity Place: http://www.pickityplace.com/
HOWEVER...the chocolate at Burdicks is really super, so maybe the more western- and close to Vermont route is really preferable!

here's the website for the inspired gardener

Or.... one trip in May...and one trip another time!
*sheesh*
My poor piggy bank!
I can't wait for either of them, although I am partial to the western - Vermont - side route.
Sounds fine with me to start with the "western" route and save the "eastern" route for a "later in the summer" jaunt. hmmmmmm, wonder if chocolate is influencing anyone's leanings??? ^_^
the chocolate factor is tres important, je pense.
absolutely without a doubt!
The chocolate factor is making me wanna come!
charles and the chocolate factor.
Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
Well come on, Harper, Amy and Cat!!! Join us!
i think it's kinda far from here...
^_^
only 2 and a half hours, Amy......LOL ........You might want to think about it if a Burdick's all-chocolate lunch is involved. ^_^
Hmmm...
Is there a date? My time gets crazy limited in May/June, so my plans sort of depend on if someone is paying me to be somewhere else...
No date yet....I think we decided on late May....??
I think you are right, Louise. We decided on late May ... just no firm date.
just not the weekend of the 25th, (which is labor day weekend?) cause i'll be in maine for my daughters graduation! s
Thanks for the invite. I have to stay home and work in the yard all summer - except for the RU, of course.
Sarah - did you mean not Memorial Day weekend? I'm assuming so....and congrats on your daughter's graduation! How does the 31st work for you guys?
Yes! labor day is september, memorial day in may...i've never been good at those two... the 31st would work for me !
At this point, I'll have to pencil it in, and let you all know for sure when the date gets closer.
Candyce - if there's a date that works better for you, please let us know. It won't be the same without you!!
Thanks for that sweet thought.
I'll let you know.
Question about crocuses, how fast do they spread? Do I need to do anything to them, like dig them up and seperate the bulb? As you can tell I have never grown them before. But after a long winter they are such a delight to see and reassure you that spring is indeed here. They make your heart dance with delight.
I preferr to see the tightly packed clouds if purple yellow and white. I would let them spread.
Jo Ann
So they do spread on their own? I can't wait to see them spread! They give hope that the new growing season is really here!!
They do spread on their own, Debby.
