My dear daughter in law has been sick off and on for a month now. She has now been given a super anti biotic for the H flu? anyone familiar w/ that or experience it?

no info on the H flu but what were her symptoms.
i've felt rotten for over a month either coughing or sneezing or just tired and NO get up and go
doc says "must be a virus"
no name no nothing for information

she has had a sore throat and sinus stuff off and on for the month. last week, after no improvement over a 2 week period, she went back to her Dr. they found she had ear infections, 2x. and that is when they took a test for H type bacteria. She is to finish 1st RX to treat her ears and then start (tomorrow) the new RX for the H bug. I took her some of my stuff my md gave me to prevent yeast infections when on antibiotics; takes along w/ the Rx. this is the year of the flu/cold/tired sick!

some of the local nursing homes are "closed" to any outsiders visiting including family because of flu/& bacterial infections.

rockin_r, I spoke w/ my dil last night. She told me she had gone x amount of hrs w/o taking Advil for her aching body and that was the longest she had gone in weeks. Her new RX was kicking in. I just want you to know the aching body has been a symptom of the H-type flu for her.
