Love those Red-bellieds!

You better believe it Mrs. Ed!!
Wonderful pics everyone!

Burn, I love those Bohemian Waxwings. Just can't get enough of them. I saw one Cedar Waxwing a couple months ago, but haven't seen any since.
GP, that is a wonderful pic of your Cardinal. I love the lighting.
nanny, if you saw my thread on my South Llano River trip, you know I'm terrible with IDing sparrows (and finches for that matter). Oh good luck on the WBU job! That would be a great place to work, assuming the owner's a good guy. Employee discount! Oh yeah!
Pelle, I saw a couple of Boat Tail Grackles fighting today and they fell right out of a tree and landed on the road, still hanging on to each other. I was driving along and saw this big mess of black feathers fall straight down and into the right turn lane as I went by. They must have fallen at least 20 feet, and never let go of each other.
I do love having the owl, but I worry about what it's going to prey on. I've been trying so hard to get lots of songbirds around, so I hope he doesn't go after them. Also, we have some bullfrogs that live in our swimming pool. We named the first one Wilson, and then we realized there were three of them, but we can't tell them apart so we call all of them Wilson. Anyway, I hope the owl doesn't catch them, because I love to hear them at night.
We did hear the owl tonight. It's a nice peaceful sound, like doves or whippoorwills. It was a nice night, with a full moon and temps in the 60's so we were having drinks on the deck. We heard the frogs, the owl and lots of bats.
this first shot is a Hawk, pretty far up
Red-shouldered
Swallow flying by
Tough in silhouette, but I'd guess a Purple Martin

burn, I love those Bohemian Waxwings!
tiger,Congrats on the new bird! The Phoebes are so cute! Those other 2 shots are real nice too.
If Purple Martins are larger than Swallows that's what it was, since it did seem bigger than the usual Swallows I see soaring around. Nanny, my Woodpecker pair often dine together. Now I have a second pair of Red-Bellies competing for the feeder.
Wow your very lucky GP! My pairs do not come in at the same time.
BTW everyone, Theres another migration map for Rufous Hummingbirds listed in the Sticky. Its the first link under their name.
Many thanks to our "Miss Google"; tabasco. :-)

Tigerlily..Congrats on the new bird! I have named your duck "The Flasher"!! LOL!
I put up an Oriole and a Hummer feeder yesterday...just in case! The Oriole feeder has neat little pockets to put grape jelly. I got it at WBU and Nanny can get you a discount ! LOL! Just kidding!

That Nuthatch was pretty determined to get onto the peanut silo but at the last moment, flew off. I remember last fall we had a female that was backed down the tree by a squirrel.

Nanny YOU DID NOT!!! OMG, that's amazing. Talk about timing.
Congrats, congrats.
Beautiful pic Linth!
They are so cute w/ those big eyes!
I just love all your photos..I'm not really good at taking the photos, but I got two today..I have no clue as to what they are, sometimes there are white ones in there, these fields are next door and they are irrigating, that is when these and other birds stop by to drink and eat.. I think they are migrating north ..
I know, I had just told dh about the posts on the other thread and then we are out on the porch looking acroos the road at this big tree and there it was!! I went to get the camera but I missed it!! I walked over there to see if it had moved around on the tree, but it was gone. I have been hearing them nearly everyday very close for the last couple of weeks. SO I am on PILEATED HIGH ALERT now for sure!
How about a pic of a very poofy Song Sparrow
Those birds look like glossy ibises only the map does not show them anywhere's near NM. Oh, Resin......
