I edited the top post to reflect the headcount so far. Looks like it is going to be a great group!!
Three more things I wanted to mention...
1) Please bring something for a door prize if you can so that we can give those away during the roundup. It doesn't need to be expensive or new even, just something that you think a fellow gardener would enjoy. Examples of things given in the past have been compost tea, pots, crafts, books, hummingbird feeders, gloves, even bat guano.
2) In the past it has been tradition for some people to meet at the Golden Corral for breakfast prior to the roundup. Would you like to do that again this year? I know for some it is a long way to travel so it is hard to get there early for breakfast. I just wanted to ask so I could call ahead if necessary.
3) I will be attending a wedding on Sunday in Houston, and so would be unable to organize a nursery tour the next day. However, if any of you are interested in organizing one, Martha's Bloomers and the Antique Rose Emporium are not too far away and would be great to visit. I will leave this up to all of you.
Thanks! Kim
FINAL HEADCOUNT: College Station Spring RU, Sat. April 12
So far as I know right now I'd be glad to take or lead the caravan to either of those places.
Anne
Sheila I was probaly at wor at work where we do every thing in uppercase, i just hate to start over again.
I will be there with DH if he can get away. I haven't seen anyone down with chips as of yet. I will be glad to bring potato chips and some cookies.
Charlene
I just seen this thread..... I will be there for sure... plus bringing my sister in law.
Will bring a cake and something else....
Trishann
Forgot to say that my hubby is coming as well. He's not a gardener, but he can talk computers, ipods, and iphones for any of the geeks out there. hehe
Lest you get the wrong impression, he's a real sweetie who's quite friendly. :)

Anyone bringing name tags? I'll be happy to bring them. Just let me know if I should.
I thought I'd bring a veggie tray.
Jo....thanks for reminding me about the name tags! We had some before, who had those? If you can make some new ones to bring, that would be great. I think they had a place to write in your real name and your DG name on them.
Head count is now up to 45!
Kim
Are the sticky kind you get a Office Depot ok? :)
Jo
The ones we had before were sticky, but I think they had bluebonnets or something on them. But that's not necessary, as long as we all know who's who!
:) Kim
Well if that's all we need to know then we're all just crazy plant people. lol
Anne
I made them last time, but I can't come this time.
We will miss you Marylyn! Thanks for reminding me.
Anne...I know I definitely fit into the category of crazy plant person! Lol...
Blue_eyes, don't forget to include my husband in the total number coming.
Kim,...I've learned that my Mother wants to come so there will be a total of 3 now (my DW & I originally) So add one more to count! Lee
again - We'll be bringin' potato salad & a cake of some sort!
Gotcha both down!
I haven't figured out yet what I'm going to bring, but it will definitely be a meat or chicken casserole with rice or pasta - something main dish-ish. :)
We should be there, 4 total. We will bring fruit.
Sounds great trois!
:) Kim
bump
Thanks Pat! Anyone else who wants to join us on Saturday give us a shout here!
:) Kim
Kim,....one of the ladies I work with asked if she could come to the RU
(she's interested about DG) I told her - of course! - so she may drive up to visit...possibly w/a friend.....they won't have anything to trade....but I told her that wouldn't matter and to come on....thought I'd give a heads up! Lee
Sounds great Lee! The more the merrier!
Long lost child needs her family, desperately!
Count my crooked nose in once again!!!
:~)
Coming like a newbie, without many plants. Has not been my growing yr!
Smockette!!! I am so glad to hear from you!! How are you doing now? I am so glad you will be able to make it. Don't worry about the plants....I'm sure the rest of will be bringing enough to fill up the pavilion...lol.
Kim
Smockette!! Good to see you on DG again! Sorry I won't get to see you this time around!
Smockette! How are you feeling??
Feeling better @ day! Got rid of my sling finally after 3 mos. I am almost feeling human again.
Has not been a growing plants yr but new bones instead.
:~)
Yea Smockette! So glad to hear from you and to know that you're coming to the Round Up. I hope you're feeling much better.
The desert trumpet vine, 'podranea ricasoliana,' that you brought me last year is doing great, BTW. ☺
Hi Smockette!!! I have missed you! Glad to "see" your smiling face back again!!
I just kinda sorta found this thread. I've been posting to the trades thread, but overlooked this one somehow. Here's the deal: DH sings in a men's group and he just found out that they will be performing at the Art Festival Saturday - at 10:30!! Aarrgghh!!!! And I'm busier than a one-armed paper hanger (no offense meant to any who fit the description) with the Master Gardener Conference which is two weeks away. I am going to try my durndest to be in a happy place with the Conference duties so that I can come, but it will probably be around 12:30 or 1:00 before we arrive. Don't hold lunch. LOL!!! I really, really want to come (gosh, what a wonderful large group of attendees!!) and will try my hardest, but please forgive me if I don't make it. Besides, I have all of these plants sitting out here in pots, and they need to go to their new homes!!
My Don Juan rose died when we replanted after re doing the bed. So I'd like to go to Antique Rose Emporium. Would anyone like to go with me either Sat. afternoon or Sunday?
Anne
My Goodness! She finally surfaced!!!!
Will anyone be meeting at Golden Corral Saturday morning? If so what time and what is the address.
LMK, also!
It only takes a few of us! hehe
No one had said anything, but here is a map to it: http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=golden+corral&near=College+Station,+TX&fb=1&cid=0,0,10740497026435916237&sa=X&oi=local_result&resnum=1&ct=image
Also, please remember this is NOT the same location as before. And please bring a door prize, we have a lot of people coming and I hope we can give something to everyone that attends. It doesn't have to be anything big, just something a gardener would like.
Thanks! Kim
We're not going to be at Southwood Valley Park?
No Anne....we will be at Central Park because the Southwood pavilion was not available the day we wanted. Please see the first post in this thread for directions to the Central Park pavilion.
It is actually a good thing we are not at the Southwood pavilion given the construction going on right now at Rock Prairie!
:) Kim
PS>>> Anyone who could bring a folding table would be a great help....I'm not sure with the number of people coming whether we will need more room for people and plants...but it is supposed to be a beautiful day so we could put extra tables outside the pavilion if necessary.
Central Park, ok I'm having a senior moment. Where is it? I've only lived here for 30 yrs. lol
Anne
Oh, duh off the freeway. Will there be signs or do you need me to do that?
