is it okay ?

Waynesville, MO(Zone 5a)

I am not sure what to do.I love flowers and being outside.I feel comfort and security in my garden.

I have been out here looking in at this site.It is getting kind of big.I am having trouble keeping track, but I want to learn what you all know.

I am recovering from a mental trouble.I have a hard time being involved with people. My Doctor suggested something like this place might be good for me.I don't know if that is okay.

I do not have things to send people. My Doctor tells me if the garden and flowers help me relax and think I should try.I guess some places use this in place of drugs.

Is it okay for me to be here? What should I do?

Thank you lilbudgc

Welcome lilbudgc!

You don't have to trade to enjoy Dave's Garden. There is lots to learn from lots of great people here in addition to all of the tools to track your garden's progress.

Gardening is a great stress reliever, very rewarding and gives so many opportunities for personal expression - I can't wait until spring!

Hello lilbudgc! I hope you like it here. I won't have anything to offer before the autumn and I don't have scanner/camera. You can simply read the postings for a while if you prefer. When you feel ready all you need to do is say "that's pretty" and it's quite enough. The thing about gardening is, you can't hurry it. So just take your time.

HI libudge! Welcome to Dave's Garden!
I know that there are many members who do not trade, but keep up with the posts. Everyone is welcome here. Personally, I have 2 small children, and just "talking" to the members here is a wonderful way to relax. So is my garden. I think you may find it to be very theraputic. The people here are very warm and friendly- you are in the right place!

If you ever just need to chat, or have a question, feel free to jump right in a post, or you can email me privately:

Again, welcome!

You'll have a rainbow coloured garden. Trying to think of all the rainbow colours. Got it!
Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain
That's a British way of remembering the different colours. You've probably got one too.

Saint Louis, MO(Zone 5b)

I've got some butterflyweed, purple coneflower and 'Scarlett O'Hara' morning glories, if you are interested. I'd gladly send some to you.

Rapid City, SD(Zone 5b)

I've done the purple beans before - they are really easy to see to pick and turn bright green when you boil them. No Kidding! They are easy to grown and really pretty in the garden! Blue potatos - can you imagine them in a potato salad? - Have fun :)

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Howdy lilbud! Glad you stopped in. I've been growing the purple beans for several yrs and you're gonna love 'em! (When I sell them at the market we call them "magic beans"...when you cook them they turn green in a few minutes after hitting the water! Kids love 'em!).
A rainbow garden is cool! My wife has one in the front yard...a semi-circle with the order of the rainbow colors. (Reds, followed by oranges, by yellows, greens, etc)...by the way, Northener, here we simply remember the name of some guy we've never met to remember the order of the colors ...ROY G BIV

Good Morning, lilbudgc
Welcome to DG! Please consider us your new family - you will find acceptance, warmth and caring from this great group. (and a lot of laughter)

I have tons of seeds to share with you. Just email me with your address and I'll send you some.

It should soon be the time of year in your zone that you can sow your seeds outside, and stand back and watch them grow. It's kinda like giving birth - oh what a miracle to see something so small grow up and give you so much joy!

Blessings,
Grits

lilbudgc,
I am pretty new to this, started in January I think. I have found this group of people to be extremely friendly, helpful, and interesting. When I didn't know how to do something on the website, I asked, and they helped me through it. So if ever you don't understand something, just ask. Someone will help.

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

lilbudgc, we hope this place feels friendly. It is such a loving family, and we all have fun and help each other. This may be a good transition place for you to visit with people and feel secure, I hope we can all be a part of your recovery. Tell us about your garden. Do you grow vegies or just flowers? I am also in zone 5, mine is very dry with about 10 inches of precipitation annually. It is a challenge to garden here, but is better than where we lived before! It is very wintery here right now, so I am getting quite anxious for spring! Do you have a nickname we could call you, your name reminds me of a lily. Would that be ok?

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Welcome lilbudgc - This is a fun place to visit, very safe!
I have some seeds I can send you - let me know when you get your P.O. box.

happy gardening

Hi! Surely you and I are not the only ones here with slight mental problems, LOL. I am being treated for bipolar disorder. When I was frist diagnosed with depression a couple years ago and had to take a leave of absence from work it happened to be in the fall and I did a lot of walking in the park and looking at the fall flowers and the pretty trees. That started my intense passion for gardening. Unfortunately I went off the deep end and ended up with literally a thousand of some varieties of plants in my house. Who'd of thought that each seed made a plant?! ROFL!! Anyway, I have learned lots and now I am giving it a go again this year. Since I love to grow so much I am going to sell some of my stuff in a farmers market this summer. I am also supplying all my family with whatever I have that they want.

People have been incredibly generous with sending me seed so I have plenty to share. Email me with you new PO box and I will send you a surprise pack.

God Bless,

Angel

Sometimes I think i should stop gardening..but i can't. It has assisted me throughout my life. I garden in zone 4 now. I look at my garden, squint my eyes and the little bits of brown-gold sticks sticking up thru the snow, blowing around in the wind(my house shakes) I enjoy the dawn, i breathe in that spring dirt smell.I remind my self that each day is a gift. and that the last frost date is May 31
