Beautiful shot!

I would be falling out! Fabulous, sybil!

Couple shots of groups of Turkey Vultures flying over yesterday afternoon. They were really high but I counted 16 black dots here I think.

This was the first group to pass over.

Saw my first Bald Eagle in Shelburne Falls today. I have always see them in Turners Falls on the Connecticut River but this one was on a tributary of the Deerfield River. Sigh. Didn't bring my camera. But I think I'll start some birding tomorrow. Stuff is happening. New arrivals here at the house: grackles, chipping sparrows, and house finches.

What a beautiful nest site the Canadian Geese have chosen. It's only accessable by air, and is well above a very fast moving creek.

When I first saw the goose on the nest, (at least I assume it's nesting) it seemed to me not quite alright. I thought it might be dead, as it didn't have it's head up or tucked under the wing as they do when sleeping.

The next day a goose was at the site and another (presumably the one at the nest the first day) was in a slower moving part of the creek with the body floating on the water and the neck resting on the creek bank. I hope it's okay, but I am concerned.

Different place.....different goose.

It was dipping it's head into the pond, and pulling it up rapidly. I tried to catch the water on it's back. Bad lighting, but I thought it was a cool image.

Adelbertcat, I think it's a female ruby-throated hummingbird b/c black-chinned hummingbirds aren't supposed to come this far east. Sometimes, they defy the map though!

Love the duck and geese shots, and that nutria is pretty cute too!
