i bought some seeds off ebay back in feb right before valentines day.
paid for them and the lady said they were shipping valentines day.
seeds never made it so contacted lady. lady said refund and seeds. i gave her new addy to send to just to make sure i get this set.
a week goes by ask lady did she add tracking. she gives me tracking on first package of seeds from feb 14th. which shows the first process date of the 6th of march.
so i get the seeds and everything is dated valentines day.
was expecting refund as what she said she was sending out then get seeds and am just unhappy with it all.
not even a thank you for buying the seeds.
the thing is she has 100 percent feedback.
thinking on contacting her first to tell her i am unhappy with all this and go from there. but yet if im unhappy shouldnt i leave feedback saying so and why?
rock and a hard place.
dont know what to think ebay
I think it's time for you to leave ebay and shop on www.onlineauction.com. You'll meet some real nice folks over there, myself included. Poor service from sellers, exorbitant charges from ebay management, and a generally poor attitude over there forced us and a few thousand others to more over to www.onlineauction.com.
Ken in Glassboro, NJ
will check it out thanks.
I don't like ebay. I never sold anything in my life on ebay- (once I purchased something.) I was getting emails saying things like-" The things I purchased from you on ebay were not recieved- please provide info such as name, address, phone etc. " I never answered because it sounds like a scam, since I never sold anything. I don't even go on that site anymore.
I do think ebay is going down hill, I"ll be glad when the Daves garden auction site is up and going.
soapwort, it sounds like you were being scammed .. but not by eBay. I think the term is called phishing (fishing). The email you received probably looked like the real ebay, but it's actually from someone who is trying to steal your identity. You were smart not to respond. I had something similar happen to me; luckily I checked with eBay before responding and found out it wasn't from them.
If you go to eBay's site, click on "Help" on the upper right corner. That should take you to a screen that says "Top Questions About eBay". The first entry is "How do I know an email is really from eBay?" Click on that and you'll get information on phishing. I was going to give a direct link to the site, but when I'm signed into eBay, anyone can get into my account.

shebs45-You are right ! Some one was trying to scam me! Thanks for the link ! It did say -Urgent- if you do not response your ebay account will be suspended.(i thought fine) They are very deceiving.
Ken in Glassboro, NJ the auction online cost $4 a month to be able to buy anything.
man, that stinks, you have to pay to buy? it's bad enough to have to pay to sell.
I stand to be corrected. You are able to purchase something up to a 1,000 dollars. I tried to buy am embroidery designs and I guess the seller put on there you have to be a verified buyer to buy from her. It isn't worth it to me to pay $4 to buy her designs. I found 3 of them I would have gotten, but she missed out.
I'm always buying embroidery designs on ebay LOL
I can't say the same about ebay , I'm buying all the time there, and rarely do I have a problem with the sellers I deal with .
So, in the end, the package was slow? But you got the items, but not the promised refund? You can leave a neutral, or email her directly and tell her that you are unhappy before leaving any feedback.
But what part of it was a scam? I had a hard time following the scenario? I know what a phish is, but how did you conclude that it was happening in this particular case?

If you find something you wish to buy from someone who is requiring a verified buyer, and that item is under the $1,000 limit, I would contact them about it. Some are ex-greed bay people who are very paranoid about non-paying bidders ripping them off. It never hurts to ask.
Ken in Glassboro, NJ
I did sent this person offering the designs and asked why a person had to be verified to purchase them. The designs were only 3.99 and like I said there were 3 different ones that I was interested in. I haven't heard back from the seller yet.
Thanks Ken for the info. But I hate to think about having to pay a monthly fee just to be able to try and purchase something. Because there is times a person just places a bid and doesn't win. So if I don't buy something I would be out the money anyway.
I will wait on Dave's Auction to start up. I am sure there will be people selling things that I am interested in. Maybe not embroidery designs to start with but sooner or later.
I'm ready for Daves auction too, I keep wondering though, will friends not bid against friends , you know , you don't have that problem on ebay, but here? wondering, if friends will feel bad bidding against their other garden friends. LOL
we'll have to wait and see I guess.
