Beautiful start for a new thread everyone!

Linth, thanks for starting the new thread, it is always a pleasure to see your beautiful pics!

Tabasco, you asked on the previous thread about our weather...I am pleased to report that the storm you are experiencing missed us completely. DH says we live in a "banana belt" and this time it is true...I wasn't looking forward to a foot of snow!

I have a few crummy pics of the Eastern Bluebirds from yesterday that I have put into a collage. It was cold, windy and couldn't get close enuf for good shots.

Everyone enjoy your weekend!

This morning we had a couple hours of snow on the ground. I enjoyed watching the birds through my back door. This male Northern Cardinal and Chipping Sparrow were quite a pair. I rarely get to see these little sparrows up close.

I posted two pix. Now I can not get them to post.???????????????

Bella Vista, AR(Zone 6b)

Chipping sparrow. You can tell he is not a field sparrow by the black line at his eye and gray, not pink beak.

Thanks Nanny & Burn...and I'm happy to see the pic of the beautiful Pine Grosbeak...how I'd love to see one!

Beautiful pic Julie!

This was a surprise picture for me...what fun to catch this male Red-bellied Woodpecker while he was flying away....

Here is a Crow Pheasant. The ruffling of leaves took me out with the camera only to see this bird having caught a Chameleon. My entry to its view made it to leave the catch and fly up for safety.

docpipe if you use the same wording as you used on a previous post it wont work. Try changing your wording.

This was my poor sick goldfinch. I found him laying by the porch after the snow melted.

I love cedar waxwings! We had them pass thru once many years ago. I had to look them up, but I never forgot how they looked.

What sort of bush are they sitting in?

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Pelle , I'm so happy for you. Did you do your happy danse, like I did? Boys...... those guys are really getting a shower.
Docgipe: Ever since Wallaby talk about the resizing of pic on another thread, I've been using the free program, Angele linked too, and it does a great job. It doesn't take as long to post now. And it doesn't affect the quality of the pic. Here's the link she put up.

Northern Harrier - What a great way to start a thread!

Sometimes I can't get to these threads for a week or more at a time. They are wonderful to review - I just wish I had the time to comment on each pic.

I can FEEL spring through your posts so keep posting!!!

How exciting Pelle! I am still watching and listening for them!

BERN..............Thanks for the link to Power Toys. Paragraph one whooped me. I am using Vista. This site will accept my 10 mb camera shots. My problem was not knowing this site will not accept posts with the same wording.

I am presently using the simple software that came with my Canon Rebel. Surely it is not as good as the commonly used purchased software but it meets my needs so far. It was updated to work with Vista. Once understood or learned I have had no problems thus far. My needs are relatively simple.

Thanks for the help from dellrose I can now do a collage.

Very nice adel!

The birds are having a heck of a time hanging onto the feeders with the wind blowing so hard and all the rain. I also notice that w/ the sideways rain all the seed is getting wet in the feeders.

Back to the St. Augustine Alligator Farm and Rookery today. The Great White Egrets, Woodstorks, and Spoonbills are incubating eggs. This is a nice photo of a Green Heron perched just out of reach of a waiting alligator.

How many birds can one branch hold. A Great White Egret and a Yellow Crowned Night Heron with a pair of Spoonbills that are on their nest. The Spoonbills were quite annoyed.

The Spoonbills finally booted out the intruders.

It was so windy that the Great White Egrets were having a "bad hair" day.

Original_sybil, I agree, I feel spring too!

Adelbertcat, love the collage!!

Pellitory, nice shot! Nice camera! I can actually see the rain!!

Bsharf, nice pictures of birds I don't get to see! Both herons are beautiful! I would love to see their chicks! Giggling over the rest. Love bad hair day!!
