How am I able to lengthen this topic line, but not others?

Another topic with which I'm trying to start a thread for ... I seem only able to write three or four words in the title line and no additional letters show up after typing? What do I adjust so that I can write as many words in the title as I have been able to do for this new topic?

I've never run into that--are you sure it's not just a temporary bug? I've seen plenty of subjects in pretty much all the forums that were more than 3-4 words long. I wouldn't be surprised if there's some sort of character limit to prevent people from typing a whole paragraph in the title, but unless your words were really long I'm guessing that's not what you were running into. I suspect one of those temporary gremlins that either resolves itself or can be fixed by rebooting the computer.

I rebooted the computer and it DID solve the problem. As you can tell, the topic header for this thread did not have this problem when I typed it. There IS a definite character limit, but not as short as 3-4 words thankfully!!
