I was pleasantly surprised this morning after stepping out the front door and hearing and seeing some Cedar Waxwings across the street.

Dellrose, you are worried about twigs!!!!!!!!! Good Lord, the birds here will not cooperate with me at all, I either have twigs or great big trees in my shots. I crop, but cannot get rid of the brush. I have made it my trademark!

Even the Cardinals have moved from the mock orange bushes to the tree tops!

Great pics all! I have been down since 1:30 this afternoon when we lost power. Have had rain, freezing rain, sleet & snow today!

The bright side to this is I had another new bird visit today! A Yellow Rumped Warbler!!

I am assuming it is a female but not really sure!! Anyone know?

The yellow spot on top of the head means it is a male; from its otherwise fairly drab plumage, it is a first-year bird (hatched last summer)

Congratulations Nanny! Isn't it nice to see a new bird in your yard...well sometimes. Last week I saw a Common Grackle for the first time and this week I can't count how many are out there...grrrrr! Love your cute little Warbler though!
