Sprouts and Seedlings 2008! Any pics to share?!

Mackinaw, IL(Zone 5a)

Critter, I have seedlings in my swamp milkweed WS container! See, I just needed to be patient. Then again, I DID just cut the tops off this week, so there's always that chance that something else sneaked in there, but I prefer to believe it is my butterfly-feeding plant!

Wooo-hooo! So almost everything I WS sprouted!

Yea! Finally I have WS pics to show. This is the very first one,True lavender, and it was the first one I put out back in Jan. I am risking planting it today in the herb garden, but I could not help myself☺

nice plants posyblossom in all your pic.

On the last picture it looks like you have a wooden table frame or chair around them, and right in the middle of the three plants it looks like a sweet potatoe sticking out of the ground, what is that ? Looks like you got some nice soil too ^_^

enjoy planting your WS , good job!!!!

Thank You! Thank You! How exciting this is, especially as the wonderful soil is my very own compost. My Woodchuck Garden Book recommended having many small piles of passive compost near and handy to where planting. I even planted herbs around the one compost pile so the compost pile would look nice too☺

The wood frame is an old frame from an old foot stool that I tore the stuffing out of and flipped over, filled the wood frame with soil and used as a planter. Linda, that little 'sweet potatoe" looking thingy is the shell from a dead Japanese Trapdoor Snail that I could not part with☺

I was gonna say that i thought i saw a snail in that photo. my son had one once. his name was Gary [as in Spongebob's gary]

I like the idea of small piles of passive compost, looks good , handy and blends in and looks very natural. Cool on the recycled ottoman, and lol on the sweet tater/ snail. I need to get some eye specks ^_^
