Larina The Oppressor!

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

Well yet another day of abuse. First thing this morning the master forced me into the great outdoors! It was a horrible balmy 70 degrees, as I had to watch her playing in the dirt and chasing the dog. The wretchedness of having to endure the chasing of squirrels from tree to tree. Oh the agony of listening to the birds chirping in the trees while they busily start building nests for the coming spring. Oh whoa my tortured spirit as I was forced to gaze upon light blue skies with passing clouds and a slight breeze blowing against my back. The unrelenting evil as we had to go up into the woods and play in the dry leaves and swinging in the hammock as we stare up into the sky with birds on the wing. The misery of chasing the first of the butterflies as they go about the business of bringing in another spring of flowers and new life! The desolation of my soul as I am obliged to witness the fascination on her face as she explores the many wonders of the world as only a two year old can.

Of course there could be 3 feet of snow and freeze my rear off like some of you I know. =P

Not to worry your turn is coming I just got mine first!

Have a great weekend mine will be!!!!!!!!

Oh you poor thing...too bad you are not here with the more perfect weather. Temps in the 40's here today don't ya know. With any luck this continued heat wave will reduce most mounds of snow to mear heaps. We can only hope. :)

Your little Larina is just adorable, a tornado in her own right?

When I saw the picture of that precious little blonde and I read about the "agonies" you are "enduring", sweet memories flooded over me of my own blonde DGD, now 14. I kept her every weekday the first 7 years of her life while her mother finished college and then went on to get her master's degree. I still hear her calling to me as she said, "Ma Susie, let's go pick daffa-dee-dils."

Enjoy every lovely moment of your little Larina!

Will the abuse never stop! Last night we got our first snow late in the evening. At about 8:45 PM Larina is on the floor looking up at the window and notices that something looks funny, so up she climbs on the back of the love seat and gets on the window sill claps her hands looks at me with an excited grin on her face and says snoow! Like a rifle shot off we go, we get dressed up nice and warm sorta, since we don't get much of the white stuff here and we stay inside when it gets cold. So out the door we go in the dark and I figured a minute or two would be enough in the cold and she would be ready to go back inside. WRONG! We spent a full half hour out there walking in the dark playing in the snow, I can see her with a case of the shivers, a light breeze from the north the snow still falling. The whole time she is walking with her arms and hands spread looking up into the falling snow and laughing almost nonstop. Larina would have stayed longer but grumpy old grandpa said time to go in! Upset and unhappy she grudgingly came back inside got herself a warm glass of milk and passed out a minute later for the night.

With the ground being still warm about an hour after she came back inside the snow was all gone, so even though it was in the dark and a bit chilly I think overall it was worth the discomfort as this is probably all the snow we will have this year that she will be able to enjoy.
