OK That was easy. THis is a pic taken by Theresa (DG user name) even though I am posting it. I am also posting a link her original post for anyone who feel it is useful.

MGs on hollyhocks--the pic I saw had a fairly young 'star of yelta' MG on a rose colored HH--I'm not sure later in the summer the hollyhock was still standing, but oh, well... And on the sunflower, I think the other photo said Sunflowers and MG 'Heavenly Blue' is a classic combination...
Yes, I'm just getting into vines this year (problem is I don't really have nice walls, front porch railings, or big trellises for them).
along with the Japanese Morning Glories (five kinds), I started some Black Eyed Susans under lights, too. And Campsis, cypress vine, cardinal climbers, several climbing nasturtiums (those three for the hummers) and my cobea from seed.
And I'm nursing along a trumpet creeper cutting from last year, 5 clematis in the garden (that don't want to do a thing for me) and an ampliomopsis (?) that is supposed to be invasive which is very putzy and sulky for me too.
Also trying to start Maypops and aristolochias (for the butterflies) but I doubt anything will come from those. Maybe those vines sense my negative attitude toward them and are in a pout?!
When I look at my list of 'vines in process' it's quite long and I hope I haven't bored you all to death!
The soil is quite wet here, too, but I'm hoping the sunshine hangs on and things dry out. If we have a week of this warm and sunny weather we'll be in business with the daffodils and hyacinths before too long!
Oh, that morning glory on the KMOTGG is so cute! Thanks for finding that photo!
I LOVE that pic.. seen it before and want to do it real bad!! :)
Susan
What in the world is a KMOTGG????
Kiss me over the garden gate :-))
Of course! sigh . . . didn't mean to be so dense. :-)
oh wow, that's pretty..and here I am with seeds for both :)) would KMOTGG grow in a BIG pot? I don't know where to put it
Could you put it over the garden gate?
Only if I want to get kissed, I think. I don't have a gate in my garden :(
Just being funny! I don't know how well they would do in a pot, but with all the seeds they give it's worth a try, eh? SMOOCH!
Hi grampapa...
This is my first season of devoting the majority of my garden to cottage garden type and heritage flowers. I am growing my kiss me seeds in a very large pot. The plant is an annual so it will share a pot with some hedera, snapdragons & various bulbs. I am counting on the kiss me to self seed and come back in the spring. I should have timed it right so that when the bulbs fade, the kiss me should be coming up. The hedera will provide year long interest and will look good on it own for the few months out of the year when it is alone draping over the sides of the pot. I may work some cyclamen in there come winter just for some fresh colour.
I don't know how it will turn out but one never knows until they try.
Sounds nice Ben. how big is your pot?
And Benny, do you have a gate?!! Smooch!!
Check out this great thread-some of you are mentiuoned;)

LeBug, I'll hold on to those MGs as long as they look good. Spring is just around the corner! Looks like the mold on my pots is just a white crust now. I think its dead and just discoloring the soil surface. Its not happening in my home made mix, so I'll just stick with that.
I direct sowed some Shirley poppies and P.somniferums yesterday. I'm trying them many ways...I will have poppies! Now I've got to get some larkspur direct sown.
Hi everyone, I have been out of the loop for a few days. I've been really sick. I am way behind on my seeds now :(
(And my housekeeping:-P)
It might take me a bit- but I'm going to read what I've missed out on. Hopefully everyones been having lots of sprouts!
hope you're feeling better meredith :)
critter, I planted your Italian basil and ornamental pepper seeds yesterday! your basil seeds were really dechaffed, clean and so nice....I had a baggie of basil I picked from my basil and had to break it up and search for the seeds, tedious but what a great smell! Thanks to you I figured out how to collect the seeds.
I'm excited to be starting my peppers and basil earlier than I normally do. I'm curious to see if it helps.
I had a few pepper plants last year that just didn't get enough ripening time. I started putting the slow pokes in pots and it seems to work bringing the pot indoors at the end of the season when it gets too cold.
I still have a large chiltepin pepper plant in our foyer now. I kept it to see if it produces more peppers this season as an experiment.
edited typo...must have written this before my coffee!

Suzy, would it be possible to please repost the list of seeds that should be kept in the freezer? I lost your previous post for it.
Is it time to start herbs? I have a baggie FULL of different herb seeds. Ima have to get the tiller out and REALLY expand the herb garden this year. Wooohoooo.
I hear we are suppose to have a snow around the middle of April :) Gonna be another one of those springs!
Gone for most of the day probably need to take dad to the doctor :) I'll try and catch up when I get back :)
Lala,
I've sown the perennial herbs already. The'yre at my window sill now. The annual ones I will do in a couple of weeks, but you (being in a colder zone) may have to wait a little longer.....

I just sowed my parsley and dill La getting ready to do some skullcap today.
Wind,
Seeds to keep frozen:
It's the blue poppies (Meconopsis) -- and there are some white ones floating around, too
Clematis
Lilies genus Lilium (these were no in the swap, but if you have any, get them frozen)
Possibly Delphiunium & Larkspur. It is well known to only be viable for 1 year, but maybe freezing would help. If you got Delphinium seed from Stoke's, you can sow it NOW, trade it NOW, or try to freeze it NOW, and see if that lengthens the storage time.
If you have Delphinium or Larkspur seed from the swap, get it sown. Get it SOWN. It isn't a good one to send to Distantkin for the newbies, just sow it, see if you can get it to germinate and give it away as a seedling if you can one or two to germinate.
Suzy
You can winter sow (if that's your bag LOL) the dill, parsley and some others. they did great for me last year.
All I also have my tomato seeds frozen, they don't have short viability but freezing apparently extends their life span. KD
thank you for the frozen seed update :)
I'm going to add sweet cicely too, because Weez did it with hers. I ws some of my seeds that were not stored frozen. I hope they are still viable.
Darn it anyway, I planted my tomatoes and peppers the other day and looked (AFTERWARDS like a dummy) at my notes from last year and they will be taller than last year before I take them out because I sowed them about three wks. earlier than I wanted too lol They will be fighting the lights again lol
Kd, I didn't know you could freeze tomato seeds, I guess this goes with gr. pepper seeds too? Do you freeze them in the little baggies or should it be paper? I plan on collecting seeds for the tomatoes this year because I'm getting tired of buying them lol
I got two big ole pots at wally world today for my cannas, ceramic for almost $20 didn't think that was bad at all I think I paid $25 for two last year that weren't as big as these two, now if I can just afford the dirt for them lol How many to a pot? These are about a foot and a half around at the top a little slimer on the sides down to the bottom, not much. These are going to be the shorter cannas, I'm courious to see what all the hipe is about these things lol
Does anyone soak their datura seeds before they plant them?
I did - but still have had any germinate so far . . . it's been about 3 weeks.
They do take a while to germinate that's why I was wondering about soaking them but don't want them to rot, how long did you soak them? I wonder if a heat mat would be better but then my heat mat is full for right now lol
I soaked the datura seeds for 2 days, then planted them. They are on heating pads.
Oh my, mine will take longer then lol I have no room on my heating pad lol Thanks!
ON DATURA SEEDS:
I planted some last year-I direct sowed them-threm em in the dirt & covered lightly-watered well & in about 2 weeks had tiny seedlings, it took about another 3 weeks for them to get about 8", then it seemed like the next day they were 3' tall!! They really are easy as heck, I think you may be giving them too much TLC, I plan to sow mine the same way this year-planted em mother's day weekend and had blooms on 4th of July!!
Stacey, that sounds great to me! I had them marked to direct sow.
I'm afraid to direct sow, I'm trying a few things this year but don't have much luck direct sowing and just don't want to take a chance with these.
It's the easiest way-I swear!! It was the 1st seed I EVER sowed in my life and was a little bit freaked, but did what my mom said and VOILA-big beautiful blooms that smeeled so good at night!! Plus the bumbles LOVED THEM-I had to be careful smelling them!! The ONLY downfall was I had to constantly deadhead (and you have to cut these off not pluck them), otherwise you end up with 1 pod per flower w/ a bizillion seeds in it!! Just make sure to pick a place in FULL sun and well drained....
Well I've already got them in cups to soak and they are wet because I washed the cups out they were still dirty from collecting lol Maybe I'll put a couple of seeds out to see what they do, they don't reseed for you do they Fairy? I've grown them before and they've never reseeded for me thought that might be why you were so concerned about the seed pods, I have Inoxia and that one reseeds like crazy but so far I've kept it down to two plants they are perennial for me didn't really expect that when I first planted it but that's the only one I've ever planted in the ground I kept the others in pots before.
