Well, now, Rebecca....I'm sitting here staring at YOUR daylilllies dancing in the rain......so I KNOW I've met YOU!!!!! Not to rub it in---I'm sure I look so beautiful in the pic (after driving 4 hours and hanging out in the rain) that you just didn't recognize me!!! (And in your defense, I'm not sure I'd recognize you, either, plus you gave me something else besides daylillies and I can't remember what, so there, you see how well my memory works....)! I believe my trade to you was 'Hot Lips' salvia.......or maybe not, knowing my brain! Sorry you weren't able to see EL's garden---what a treat it was!

Garner, NC(Zone 7b)

Whooops! Busted Rebecca, LOL! Way too funny:-)

Yotedog- are you wearing the glasses to the right side of bev...? lol oh I am so in trouble..lol. Yes we have met but it's been so long. And yep, I still have your lovely Red Hot Lips plant by my front door. lol heheheh. I am so terrible with memory! :o)))))))))))))))))))))))) *blushes*

Yes, and no offense taken. Like I said, I can't remember all you gave me, and I probably wouldn't recognize you, either. Just couldn't resist a little jab in fun! Sorry you weren't there, but maybe in the future? My 'Hot Lips' is as big as ever--it now covers the space where yours resided. Probably have to divide it this fall again...

This is the rose that was brought from Texas many years ago and was growing in the front yard on that tall tree. I had taken a photo of a similar rose bush in Texas near my property a few months previous. I think it could be the same one???

Garner, NC(Zone 7b)

Good job, Elyssa!! You were asking about the rose in the front of the house? Maybe if you hum a few bars...lol! Post a closer pic of yours, maybe we can help, although I'm cruddy at rose id.

I'll have to wait until next spring for the rose to bloom. My gut feeling says it's the same rose. The bush in Texas is very old too.

Raleigh, NC

How's Texas treating you, fancyflea? I'll be down your way in a few weeks, so I hope its not too hot, yet! As you know, that's my home state, so I hope you find people and places to love there. Love the pics-- Thanks for posting them. Good luck with the house and getting you and the critters settled!

Wharton, TX(Zone 9a)

Hey there yotedog. Texas is treating me just fine. This neighborhood is so full of exotic tropicals. WOW!!! People are great here, just like in North Carolina. I'm so glad I moved to the South away from those cranks of the North East. If you come by my way please come and visit if you have time. Or maybe you need a place to stay? I have a guest room.....

Raleigh, NC

Good to hear all is well, and people are friendly, and thanks for the invite! I'll be a little too far away to come by this time, but hoping to plan a real vacation next year and tour the state. (Why is it we never take vacations in the places we live???). So might be closer then. Good luck with your house and have fun discovering all the new things you can grow now (and with figuring out that, yes, tomatoes go in in early March, and are done by July, when they are just starting everywhere else!).
