Ya'll are going to shoot me, but I have a family event that my Mom just called to remind me about and it occurs that Sunday April 20th.

So I will unfortunatley not be able to make this one as I had originally planned. So sorry guys. :o((((

no kidding...I'm starting to feel like I will never meet the elusive rebecca30....

SO far it looks like I'll be coming and may or may not bring my 7yr old daughter, but can't promise something won't come up. At any rate anyone that would like to stop by for a break either way is welcome (just dmail me). Now that they've upgraded I-40 (yay...that only took half my life!) I'm not sure if it's on the way anymore....

I can come. Let me know when to be there....

sorry Tropicanna.... no worries, we shall meet once day. hehe How far are you from Winston Salem? Not to far I think you may have mentioned. My traveling job takes me all over the place. I know that sometime this spring/summer they will send me to Winston-Salem. Perhaps then after my appointment I can stop by for a quick visit? Who knows maybe I can bring some extra plants for a 2person swap a roo?? lol lol...

ok Talked to Ms. Wilson today, we are a go for Sunday, the 20th, at 1:30 pm...what a nice lady to talk to! she was super nice and said she was very excited to show us the grounds...she asked if we were visiting any other gardens in Charlotte and I told her nope the trip was all about getting inspiration from her gardens..

If any of you would like to have a friend etc come with you just keep me informed so I have a total number going...you are all most welcome to spread the word or invite anyone local that you think might enjoy it...they (Wing Haven)had just mentioned to try and keep the group around no more then 20 without letting her know so ....

Rednyr, I'm going to put this out to a few friends...

Tggfisk--love to carpool if it works for you...save a little on gas, decrease air pollution, chat...all that fun stuff....I can drive or whatever, no problem, just let me know!

Lunch sounds great before the tour. I've only been to Charlotte once so I have no suggestions. I guess somewhere close to the Lawrence home would be good? Maybe Ms. Wilson has some suggestions or one of you guys?? Lis

yes I know you are still partying it up for the BF's b'day...most likely an all week event huh...you poor thing...doesn't he know you have plants that need tending to! BTW the BOP is popping out some new leaves...I decided to pot it up in a large container rather then risk losing it by planting it in the ground...the pic just looked way too pretty to take a chance....well I am off to make Damian...I mean Katelyn...go to bed...I swear that child has more nerve then a 50 yr old hooker...

There is no problem with the group ranging from 15-20 - anymore then that I would just give Ms. Wilson a courtesy call so she knows before hand...

Please don't forget that WingHaven suggests a donation of $5 per - I personally don't believe the kids would be included in that - but don't know for sure - just assuming that since most places forgo the kiddos costs to lure the parents there LOL....

Ok lunch - should I do some googling or anyone have suggestions - a varied menu would be nice - nothing expensive if ya'll don't mind - I have the Riverbanks Zoo botanical sale the 26th so am trying to save some bucks towards that :o) A nice hot sub or pizza place is good for me - but everyone else please throw out suggestions for food you like and we can go from there with a general consensus

Are we doing Wing Haven and EL home, or just EL home? I realize that Wing Haven is purchasing the EL home, so wasn't sure if the arrangements were for both or one. Happy either way, just trying to plan my time.

Hey Yote - how r u?!!! it will just be EL's home this time around - had we been able to make the May date I would have suggested both - but with several of us 3hrs away thought EL would be perfect coupled with a nice lunch prior to .....

Speaking of directions...can you post an address where we're all meeting when it gets decided? GPS:-))

Kara - hows your sanity holding up with the inlaws there? I don't envy you one bit!

Looking at the map on Wing Havens site and yotes link I was wondering how everyone felt about meeting up at the Park Road Shopping center and we can see whats local to it to eat at....that way we are already just a few minutes from our destination - and usually shopping centers will have food chains nearby if not in them...how do you all feel about that? Go to the link provided by yote - you will see the shopping center in the lower left corner of the map, this puts us by major intersections which are easily followed to EL's home...

The Park Road Shopping center sounds great. I looked it up and they have lots of eating places. Carolina Soda Shoppe(sandwiches, salads etc) Brugger's Bagels(also has sandwiches etc.) Subway, Wendy's, Fuel Pizza, Charlotte Cafe, etc. Looks like you can sit outside too so hopefully the weather will be kind to us.

fancyflea - aren't you just a superb googler! lol thanks for that info...I think it sounds like a plan.....that way if we meet to eat others who don't care to can still meet us there since it is a large place, lots of parking and close to our destination...

How about for those who want to meet for lunch we meet at Noon by the Carolina Soda shop(that doesn't mean we have to eat there -it's just a general mtg spot), others can hook up with us in the parking near the soda shop at 1pm to drive over to EL's we should leave for EL's home at about 1:15, if anyone prefers to drive straight to EL's thats cool too.

For those who want to eat - please look over FF's post of the rest and post here what tickles your fancy -

Kara - I sure hope you come - Katelyn is coming and hoping the dd comes with you....LMK because I thought it would be a good opportunity for me to bring you some of the other trades for you I missed while at Parks...(sedum, etc)

Edited to say, whoever gets there first.....look like a gardener, or hold up a sign or something so others will know you are part of the group.
