Mulletman, congrats on the most precious bloom of all : )
Hey Cedar ... We sure have missed you! Hope to see you around once in awhile. Spring is coming! Let The Planting andTrading Begin! LOL.
Lin...I always have the best intentions of getting on here more often but things have a way of detouring me ..LOL...Oh my!! I am SOOOO anxious for spring... temps were near 50 here yesterday! Almost got out the bermuda shorts..then today..more snow and back to the long johns. But Robins are back and geese are flying north so its only a matter of time now ...Oh Yeah..Bring on Spring!!!
I understand Nancy! Some of are old and retired and don't have kids at home so we have lots of time to play in Dave's Garden! LOL.
I'm wishing Sunshine, Warm Temp's and Spring for all of y'all in the North! We are due to have a couple more nights in the 40's but I won't complain about that at all, since it warms up to the 70's during the day!
I have a puzzle that needs solving..LOL..I bought this hanging plant last week at walmart..I thought it was both creepy and kinda cool... and of course..it had no tag : ( Hopefully one of you can tell me what it is? It has weird wirey foliage and the blooms are almost lipstick plant looking.Hope this pic turns out....
Oh Nancy ... That is grown down here in Florida as a landscape plant ... can get huge. It's called Ruselia: http://www.floridata.com/ref/R/russ_equ.cfm
Oh, and here's the PF Info: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/1334/

It comes with pale yellow flowers too, but I love the orangy red one myself. Don't grow it in my yard but I might have to think about trying it in a hanging basket to see how it does.
Thank You for the ID Lin!! It is pretty neat looking.I didn't think it looked like any houseplant I have ever seen...lol...
Nancy, THAT is a beauty!!!
OMG, I WISH our Wal-Mart would sell SUCH pretty plants!
That is one I have never seen before and just think it's SO KEWL looking!
Great find!!!
Kim
cedar- That is just a cool looking plant!!!
Thanks Kim and Diane..I didn't know if I liked it at 1st but it is really growing on me...lol... I read through Lins links and found out doing a little research that hummingbirds are supposed to really like them so I am going to hang it outside this summer and watch them go to town : )
I also read that it self sows so you may want to keep an eye out for seedpods this summer :) and is easy to root. LOVE plants easy to root :)
Kim
Thanks for the tip Kim...I like it but don't think I want a whole yard full...
I have that plant outside all year. Hummingbirds do love it.
WOW, what spectacular pictures everyone!
Jannich, you are doing WONDERFUL with your babies :)
You must be so proud. I love the way the colors all offset eachother.
Beautiful!!
Gail, I have the sibling to your strep blooming now too :)
I will try to get a picture posted after work so we can compare siblings :)
(hugs to ya)
Kim
Gail that strep is so neat!....I Love that color!
I am still no good at starting seeds...
Jannich..That seed grown strep from Gail is spectacular. Those blooms are Huge..and so pretty.
ooooo You aure are a great grower of sinns and Kohleria..Think I need some lessons..lol...I don't do too well with them but it doesn't keep me from trying. One of these days I am bound to get it right!
wow, jannich................in a couple of days, I should be able to show you that, not only have your sinningias that you sent me are alive, but one is trying so hard to open its' buds!!!
I am so jealous that you can make Kohlerias bloom. Mine are sitting here ugly! (LOL)......I finally gave up on Dragon's Blood and that is why you and Amy got the cuttings from her!
I can't not post a picture of some kind so let me look around for new blooms right now.
This is Orchard's Bumble Magnet....small plant
I am loving Circus Time Gail.....and all of the others..of course ...The colors on the last one are dreamy : )
Gail- You know I love that Orchard's Bumble Magnet! Beautiful!!! Lin, have you seen it yet? It's a pretty pink! Nice chimera too
jannich- Do you know the name of your Sinningia? I want to try those and am looking for an easy one to start with- any suggestions? i like yours because of the bloom colors!
Oh ... That one Orchard's Bumble Magnet is my very favorite, hands down! Perfect Pink Blooms on that little plant! Photo's sometimes don't do justice but that photo is awesome so the plant must be even more stunning in person!
I LOVE PINK!
I am trying to get up the energy and enthusiasm to stick leaves on some of my avs.......trailers, too........but so far the pajamas are winning out today!
Gail- The leaves won't care if you're in your PJs! LOL
Oh, that is LOVELY Gail! Wish I could do Begonias the way you do...
they are all on the front porch with poly wrapped around the porch and we don't have the cold winters like you do.........Mine get such high humidity plus warmer temps than yu, Diane
You amaze me Gail..Is there any plant you "can't" grow well??..LOL..If I could grow even half as good I would be thrilled : )
