Nice pictures gardenpom.

Seeing your indigo female bunting makes me wonder if I have had a visit from one. It seems like I have seen this type of bird visit my feeders along with some finches and just thought it was another finch or wren. Guess I need to pay more attention and learn about her markings.

Thanks Marilyn. You see a lot more female Buntings than males, especially the Painted Buntings. The males tend to be reclusive until they feel secure at a feeder. There are terrific shots on this thread. Love the Snow Buntings (guess I'll never see them here!)....and the Cygnet Swan (so cute).

Aw Mrs Ed...that is a sweetie! I would love to see one of those Redpolls in person!

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Let me tell you, they are just the cutest little things. I'm thinking this is a female? It is smaller than the one I had at Christmas and less pink on the breast. I so wish they would have showed up on the bird count days.

But they are quite quick. This is on auto setting, I'll need to change to Shutter priority from now on!!

Hi Marilyn,Its a Brown -headed Cowbird (female).

Fellsmere, FL(Zone 9b)

Thanks Pell have never seen this gal at my feeder before. She was so docile I almost thought maybe she was sick, but then she perked up.

Mount Pleasant Mills, PA(Zone 5a)

Another day of snow, sleet and freezing rain (still freezing rain tonight) here! Come on Springtime.

Meanwhile, the old crow with the camera caught this old crow down by the creek. It is pretty far away and he/she is landing, but you get the idea.

Nice pics everyone.
Mrs_Ed those Redpolls are very sweet, aren't they. I also enjoy them at the feeders. They are in great numbers here in winter. Pretty soon, they'll be leaving, and it's going to be, the goldfinches, and purple finches turn, at the feeders in Spring .

And we get these sweeties, Black-Capped Chickadees.
