Daily Pics Vol 70
Marilyn, he looks kind of evil!! Cool!
You folks once again have posted fantastic pictures.
Thanks Pelletory.
That woodpecker found a small container of ground up peanuts I keep at the feeder for some of the little birds, like dees. Seems to really enjoy it.
I just love this forum. :)
LOL, thats good sybil! I love it too!
Marilyn, that is really nice.
GrannyGrunt ; Dont, know what it is with Woodpecker, I have a metal tube feeder for finch, they always land on. They go up and down and around it, in search for a bigger hole. lol
Went to Maine today, and got this picture, I think they are Snow Bunting.

Wow, mrw thats a great pic of the gosling!!!
Thanks so much for sharing that sweetie w/ us!
burn, nice pic! I think they are but I'll leave it to Resin. I'm sick and gotta get to bed. Sorry.
Sorry to hear your sick Pelle, hope you'll be feeling better soon.
N.M. Jane, that pyrrhuloxia reminds me of how cardinals are shaped.
If we had them in Pa. I'd be too stupid to spell the name.
It is a beautiful bird.
GG
Wow great pics Jane.
2ndCousinDave always happy to see you pics. loved the series on titmouse fledging and bluebirds. You have such details in your Pics.
Granny ... the pyrrhuloxia is a close relative to the northern cardinal. I wish they had just named it a gray cardinal ... sure would be easier to spell. ;-)
Dave ... beautiful bluebird. Can I trade you a couple of my house finches for one of them?
There is not much open space around the house. So they most of the time sit on little branches that more often than not get obscured for my shots. Yet, I love sharing what I get and also get lots of pleasure in seeing those shots posted by others - of birds in the open, not among twigs and branches - esp. those lovely bird feeders too.
From a trip to the park on one of the few non-rain days around here -- a gosling
Mute Swan cygnet
Was that taken today?
Resin
Adel...Are the Stellar's in the Bay area and So Cal? They are so pretty and I don't remember ever seeing one when I lived there.
GG...LOL!
Marilyn...beautiful pic of the Heron...I've never seen one of those either!
mrw...Soooo cute!
Burn...Lots of Snow Buntings and lots more snow. How tall is that pile of snow?
Jane...Always a pleasure to see your birds in NM!
Dave...Love that Female Bluebird. I think she is my favorite bird (although I don't get to see them up close and personal like you! ;0(
Have a great day everyone,
Rose
Resin - as soon as I posted that I thought to myself - that was a black swan's baby, not a gosling. The pictures were taken on Sunday last - after a big rain came through this area.
Birds by day, birds by night. The sky was crystal clear and the stars were shining brightly on the evening of 2-20-08. The lunar eclipse was a side-show to the many constellations. BTW, there are a number of bird constellations in the evening skies. The best-known star-bird constellation shape projected against the night sky is probably Aquila the Eagle. But there are a few more.
So as to not waste my 4 1/2 hours of labor in the sub-freezing temperature, I'm taking the liberty of posting, for my birding friends, a composite photo of the recent lunar eclipse.
Beautifully done! I tried to get some shots but it was way too cloudy here.
That is very, very cool, lith!!
Very impressive linthicum! Glad to see it!
Wow...just beautiful Linth...well done!!
Terrific moon pictures -- too cloudy here to see the eclipse, unfortunately.
Me either, but it looks like it HURTS.
