I hope everyone comes! It seems that the highlight will be a nature walk in the woods. Of course there will be tables full of plants and tables full of food. Most of all lots of DG'ers and their families and friends.

I would come if you would make it in a different month, like May. I have relatives up that way I always really need to stop and see.

I think so too.
I think early to mid-June would be a perfect time. I have things that don't root well this time of year, or later in the summer. That would give us time to get things started from new growth in April, and still have time to get them well-rooted before it gets REALLY hot.
Great! June is one of the best months for starting cuttings. I see lots of cuttings being swapped!

I'll set the date for June 14th tentatively, just to make sure not too many people have schedule conflicts.
We're butchering a steer in April, so we'll have smoked brisket. I'll post a food thread as we get closer.

mm let's see Palestine is what 45 min away from smith county? not sure how far buffalo is maybe an hour or so? I have no idea without looking it up but sounds like a plan to me and school will be close to out so as long as I have no field trips on the weekend I should be okay........(ooooooooooooo reminded me I need to make sure they knwo I am not available for any trips the 19th of April too.)
Not sure what I will have plant wise but will come up with something to bring along

We have so much going on now but by June I should be free, count me in.
I have made a reservation for June 8th. It is kind of expensive, but it is air conditioned (which we will appreciate in June), it has a kitchen, dining room, gymnasium, bathroom and plenty of tables and chairs. It also has lots of outdoor space with plenty of parking.
The building was originally a small rural school.
Whadya think folks? It is on a Sunday as I couldn't get it on Saturday unless I went with Father's day weekend.

The rental is $100. for the day on the building. Not too much if several people attend.

I'll wait 'til May 1st to start a trade thread. I'm getting excited. I'll see the paper will write an article and maybe get some local people interested in DG.
I will start the food thread later also. I will bring a brisket for sure.
There is no alcohol alllowed at this location, so I'll be bringing plenty of sweetened and unsweetened tea.

Well I just found out that the 7th is taken.
We can have the Saturday before father's day (14th) or on Sunday the 8th. The sweet little old lady making reservations forgot about a standing reservation for a family reunion on that Saturday.
I need a vote pretty quickly so I can be certain of getting the reservation correct. I intend to peer into the little ladies calendar book to be certain when I go pay the reservation fee, so I can be sure she didn't forget anything else. LOL Rural life ain't it sweet? Gotta luv it!

When you are coming this way in June, about the only thing on the road on a Saturday is maybe a deer or coon or possum, or maybe a squirrel.
Now on Sunday, everyone who isn't a pure-dee sinner is on the road to church. LOL
So the vote is whether we are on the road with the sinners or the animals. LOL
Sinner here! I vote for the 8th, but can do either.
I vote for the 8th as well....the other weekend I will be spending with my family. But I would love to come!
