Lunar Eclipse Update

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

Or "the eclipse that saved Columbus"

But the Moon does not become invisible, as there is still residual light that is deflected towards it by our atmosphere. Most of this refracted light is in the red part of the spectrum and as a result the Moon, seen from Earth, turns a coppery, orange or even brownish hue.

Cool - thanks!

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

Well the dang clouds interfered with a nonstop view of the eclipse but the weather was nice, warm and damp, but what i did get to see was great!

The appearance that I did get to see was a rusty red. At about half way through the clouds got to thick for me to see any more. :(

Missouri City, TX

Only view we got in Houston was on TV. Complete overcast and rain. Three more years to wait now.

south central, WI(Zone 5a)

It was actually clear last night, we are between storms. Really enjoyed seeing it..lovely.

Santa Fe, NM

Thick clouds here. Snowed later. We tried but just couldn't see anything.

Medway, OH(Zone 5a)

We went outside when it was -2 degrees here in Ohio to see the Eclipse of the Moon. We went out about 11:15 pm and the Moon was a beautiful orange all over. It was worth being cold just to see such a beautiful display of life's beauty and somewhat mystery. I do understand what causes the Eclipse but still consider life in Outer Space a complete mystery. We live 20 minutes outside of Dayton, Ohio in Medway, Ohio so we are away from the city lights and the sky was dark and the stars shone brightly. I can say it was a beautiful sight to behold. I would like to invite you to visit my site at: www.spiritual-harmony.com and view some beautiful pictures under the Web Directory. I love Visitors and also especially when they sign my Guest Book to let me know what they think of my site.
Sincerely,
tlesley@sbcglobal.net
