I was always called Bull headed have to do what I want to do, and I can't be Idle have to do something, last summer I completed redid my whole kitchen from floor to ceiling. on my vac. My DH wanted to run away from home. Having Him home all the time now after his retirement is driving me crazy, always under foot, so to speak, Can't tare up the house like I use to, so I spend it all outside. LOL
But then if I did retire, We would have real problem, both of us at home at the same time, O'my
Need ideas
I second murmur - Tils, you are a powerhouse!
I guess I just got crown, me thinks.
And the stamp!
I feel so proud,
Thank you
Went to Heidis today, had way to much fun. Got to walk around all by my self waiting for her to get back. Just so totally love roaming around and enjoying her gardens, even tho the wind was blowing and it was cold I didn't bring my coat. While walking around and adding plant after plant to my want list (for later projects) The wind had knock over some plants and I put them back up, so totally lost in the joy of the ideas she has created. Took me back in time when I work in a nursery, sooo long ago.
Her DH showed up first, with 2 of the dogs, they came over to visit me. He was very nice, I heard about the mail box story, now the blue mailbox is back.
Heidi showed up with the other 3, She was so sorry she was late, I told no problem I enjoyed it and found more babies I want. had fun with her pack, just love those dogs.
She saved me the best looking Pussy Willow, just love it. also got a Honey Suckle, (can't remember the name she told me). for the arbor.
and Liriope 'silver dragon' and Black Mondo. and can't for get the Hells. 3 of each.
The Dragon, Mondo, and the Red Cardinal, will be mix around the willow with my Iris in the back. the Trellis will be but on the deck with the Honey Suckle in a large pot for now until I replace the deck.
Need to down load the pics, of the new babies.
Beautiful babies and very nice trellis, Tills. Can't hardly wait to see them in person!
Sounds like you had a super day, Tills - I'm so glad for you!!! Your trellis is marvelous - it will work anywhere you decide to put it, that's for sure!
Can't wait till you come out here, so I can give you a few more for your yard.
I have Poppies, Blue columbine, coneflower (blue) and my Iris 'setosa'
and maybe a whole lot more, they just need to be divided and I just don't have the time. Wanta help?
O almost forgot, do you want a very big, Chive have 2 only need one.
Tills ~ I have chive and garlic chive which I will sow from seed for the potager, but thanks for asking. I have 30 aquilegia (columbine), 29 McKana Giants and one double white (compliments of Poochella at the swap) which are lining a pathway in the QAW. I checked them all today and they are all coming along nicely. I have 3 packets of California Poppy mix (cream, yellow, gold) which will be sown near where the infamous "Roy Boy II" is moored (anyone interested in a 14' Thornes aluminum boat with trailer? Just put it on Craigs List). I plan on sowing 4 O'clocks, Poppies and Forget-me-nots behind where the boat now sits. Don't think I need any plants, but I will certainly take the cardboard! Thanks!
Sheri - if you can't sell it, plant it!
Great for a raised bed, and it floats: plant two of each - Noah's garden...
Can you tell I was just crazy-busy today? My mind has been pummeled...
Thats one of the Benny's I get for working at Big Lots, this was a $80.00 trellis but I got it for $30.00 because it had no hardware to but it together, but it cost $25.00 for the hardware to but it together, so I still got it cheap. Thats how I get allot of stuff, most I really really want just wait for the chance. Just brought home a 3 pack of pots going for $12.00 got it for $5.00 because the big pot was broken, and the only reason I wanted it was because it was blue, any other color I don't think I would have wanted. they where kinda of not me, so to speak.
Have your new babies, will D-mail you
Tills
Katye ~ It's already been discussed between SIL and I. If we can't sell it, it will definitely be yard art. We've already discussed how we could work it into the whole scheme. I'm thinking the pirate deck thingy...
Oooooo - pirates! Devious, plundering pirates: I can think of a lot of plants that would fit that theme...
MMMMMM
Thanks

First, Tils - I am just smiling smiling at the your tale of wandering through Heidi's - you sound as if you were wandering with the faeries! So lovely listening to you! And I love your choice of plants - is the Trellis going to stay up on the Deck? I really like its placement there and think it would be lovely with the honeysuckle - it makes a sort of Juliet balcony (do you use that phrase in the US - architectural phase for a small raised balcony with a covered opening as in Romeo and Juliet) - Heidi, you are enchanted. Everyone comes away from visiting you elated! You definately earn your keep on this planet. Good good kharma.
And Outta, I really laughed at the 'sell or it gets planted' attitude (shared by all on this site!) I just laughed at the image of you and SIL standing and pointing shovels, like rifles, at the boat! Plundering pirates!! Plant the thing up, half sunk with a mermaid colony sitting on its rim (or what ever you call the cling onto railings). Excellent idea - I suggest Canna Lilies, they are the most piratey thing I can picture.
Go gardeners go! I enjoyed that enormously.
This is the END.
Buddy's grave has been transformed.
I want to thank each and everyone of you for the ideas, and most of all to Heidi, who had the plants and the knowledge of the plants, to help me with this.
And sorry Steve no Michelangelo or the Thinker. But this fits for me anyway.
The plants that where chosen, are:
Caroles, Black and blue Saliva
Melissa's, Soliaster
My, English Daises and Iris ' setsosa'
The rest are from Heidi,
Weeping pussy willow
Hellsbornes
Lilirope 'Silver dragon'
Black Mondo grass
Honey suckle vine
Escallonia 'Red Dream' (from her giveaway pile)
once it all fills in, just loven it
What do you think?
Tills, it's wonderful - you did a fabulous job!!!
And I'm lovin' Tyler meeting his match - they look like they may become good buds!!
It was funny watching them, this big bruit was trying to use his paws to get my poor little dog to try to do what male dogs do to female dogs, and Tyler would roll over on his back a kick him, he has some power full legs for a little dog, the only one that did not like him, was my Ester, she bared her teeth at him when he got to close to me, and would not leave my side.
Ester blocking the front door.
Tills ~ Congrats on a job well done. Buddy's garden looks beautiful...a wonderful tribute to your dear friend.
Thank you Sheri, it was so inspiring I thank he was there to guild me.
Good job Tills, That's going to be beautiful.
Well done Tills - looks absolutely great - fast forward to fully grown in, ahhhhhh, lovely, and now zoom out to present day so we don't use up too much time - so much more to do!
I am zooming out as well.
There's a whole lot of zoomin' going on out there!
Laurie - what are you up to these days & how has your weather fared as of late?
Hi Tills,
Great job on the memorial sight!
Love the pictures of the other critters, so cute!
Just love the arbor, are you growing something over it?
Love the picture of Tyler with the ball, so cool...
Happy gardening,
Carla
The memorial garden looks so adorable - brought tears to my eyes (of happiness, of course!).
Hi Carla
Yes I have a Honey Suckle vine, semi evergreen, ( Heidi pick it out) to go up it, its planted in the right corner of the deck. Some of the plants you can barley see, just starting to come up.
It took 3 tries to get that pic.
Oh Tills,
How nice the smell wafting thru the windows and the door. Good idea again Heidi!
Talking to her on what I wanted and how I wanted it, just made it so easy and her ideas and finding the right plant, to add to the ones that where given to me and my own, just makes it more special to me ans my Bud.
Know I have tears in my eyes,
It must be perfect, to hear your joy, Tills. Buddy is also pleased that he could make your life better after his departure. You are an angel to those you love and care for. Well done. Steve.
Hi Steve, How have you been?
To me that was the most exilerating thing I have done since the first time I did it, but that was bad timing and didnt realy think it out and it all turn out bad, this time I think it was well planed with all the help from all of you.
Thank You
Hugs
