That's looking pretty nice, Mary!!
Need ideas
Lookin' good!!!!!!
Uh-huh, and notice Miss Sassy's the one with the cushion..... Looking really nice, Mary! All those daylily clumps are definitely bloom-sized. You're going to have a lot of flowers there this summer!
Still have a wagon cart to go, O my
Also mix in some Hell's too, from Heidi
Miss Sassy Rules to Roost.
Oh, tills, I don't want to wish the year away (especially now the days are lengthening) but I can hardly wait to see the summer pics!
Got a lot more done today, planted so many, it is looking so nice and yes Laurie lets jump time, I would love to see it "NOW" and to see what I may have to move. LOL
Planed it real good to, got the last plant in just before it started raining now I don't need to water.
Found this little fellow in my crocus this morning
Sorry that was a bad pic
Wow you have been busy, it looks great! Hey Mary remember that I am to dig up that purple liatris for you! I just received some corms for the white ones I wanted so much, would you like a corm or two of those too? They will take a few years to fill out as big as the purple but they look great too.
Best way for me to remember is for you to send me a dmail right now while we are thinking about it...I will dig it and get it to you in Lynnwood right after they pop out of the ground. My pain management Doc is in Edmonds so you are on the way home for me at work.
Nice Tils. You have labored well.
Tills ~ good work. Excellent use of those well-planned days off. The beds look great. I am envious. I have a four-day weekend coming up and I believe it's supposed to rain the whole time. *sigh* = (
Did I notice a teeny crown on the visitor to your crocus?
Carla, will post.
Steve, I think that was the best thing, you ever told me. TYSM.
Learning new words LOL
Sheri, I still have lots of the Dayliles that Annie sent me and they can still be divide more, and I don't think she would mind if I share them with you, would you like some?
That was a little bee dude, but I think something was wrong with him/her. it wouldnt fly, took it out with a stick and place it on a rock.
I usually compliment often. Sorry your work has gone without it's earned merit. Steve.
Nope...not a bee dude. I definitely see a crown/tiara there. I think it's Laurie. . .no WAIT! It's SOFER!
And sure...I would love some more daylilies. I have a huge clump Katye gave me at Rachel's, and quite a few from Annie from the swap, but I think I have a spot I'm going to clear and plant them. So if some is good, more is better! Is that good gardener logic?
Thank you
Sheri, I think its Lauire. looking in to see what I have done, She does have the crown you know, such the fly about she is. LOL
Remember, it's the beginning of the work season for the little native bee-guys.
I find them resting in the flowers often.
They get tuckered out because they've been resting for quite a while. Gotta get in shape!
I am hearing frogs all over the place. We have a couple of pond near our bedroom window and it gets really loud out there.
You are Right, But the Thought of it to be Laurie, YES I would love her to do a flyby anytime. LOL
Mary, you are really getting a lot done - and it looks marvelous!!!!!
I think the bees must still be a little chilly too. I found an almost comatose bumblebee (quite large) on the bathroom floor at the church where my son was in a concert a week ago. The poor thing wasn't moving. I rescued it with a paper cup and a notecard, and took it outside to a sunny spot where it could warm up. It woke up enough to buzz angrily when trapped in the cup. Or maybe it was really Laurie come to hear some Mozart and Beethoven and I unwittingly foiled the plan. That would be an awfully long cross-ocean and cross-continent journey for one little bee though.
Tilly, I love the way you mix garden art, cultivated and native growing plants in your garden. It looks so welcoming.

Steve, you have to watch out for me! I slip in when you least expect it and steal ideas like crazy! And then take the credit for it, too! LOL!!
tills, it's looking great. Those daylilies will make a beautiful statement. I do think it was queen bee laurie coming for a look at your work. Steve has yet to accept his crown. I believe he and eweed have to arm wrastle for it.
Mauryhill, you probably found a queen just coming out of hibernation and looking for a nesting site. I love those little bees. They are so cool. In the summer, I am happy as a clam (or something) among the bees in the garden. They never bother me. Probably because of my name. They know I mean them no harm.
bzzzzzzzzzzzzz, it was a h~ll of a flight - what head winds!!
tils, it is looking wonderful - nice cluster of cyclamen too - they will look so nice in blossom along the path! Can hardly wait for all the blooming to take place - I think you are well on your way to have blossom through out the year. STAMP, approved, 5*!
Bees often wait until the nectar has "chemically changed" and partake of the alcohol and chemical attributes of the plant to get motivated to go to work. You know that all bee's originated in England. That is why they have a dependence on alcohol. The Irish and we Scots didn't know what the stuff was until "Longshanks" brought it with him to over come the hoards from the north. Too bad it didn't work on we Scots we just saved it up until battle and started swinging the "long swords" after a we bit of scotch! LOL
"You know that all bee's originated in England. That is why they have a dependence on alcohol. "
;-)
Sounds to me that Sofer & Balvenie need to connect up. Seems that I saw Balvenie mentioning a wee bit of single malt ( A beee bit of single malt, perhaps?) somewhere around here...
Balvenie is truely a person of culture. Only those who crave a drink that can be left on the counter during a fraternity party all night without anyone drinking it know the true value of Scotch. I started on it when I became diabetic. It actually has very little glucose converted into the blood stream from it than any other drink. That is why no hang over or headache. I had to slowly aquire the taste but now it is my prefered drink. Single malts are good but for this one a little too steep in $. Dewars is just fine.
'aoch, a wee dram would go down fine' - . And as much as I would like the dear English to take credit for discovering alcohol, I find myself wondering who wrote that chapter? I find it hard to think that the lovely chinese and japanese sat around waiting for the hairy hordes to come up with fermented grain to give them the idea of fermenting rice - and the folk across the north seas may have a thing or two to say about who came up with mead first (fermented honey and grain). And the imagination of the Russians using that new world introduction to make vodka! What a creative bunch - how did they get it to ferment?
Yes, Sofer, I fear your imagination has run amok!! I will, however, strive to remember your fave drink. Being a true pacific northwester (I.e., I orginated somewhere else) I prefer microbrews. I did have a DEEE licious belgian brew the other night - the color of raspberries and crisp and tart. Went down a treat!
You mmust have been at the Red House in Renton? Good brewery.
Laurie I knew you wanted to see Purple Haze, since that is where I found You, But you didn't have to show up a little Tostie. LOL
I have to admit I do like the hops, but only MG. not much of anything else.
I have great plans for Woodland, My DH has move my trailer back, (I use it for storage pots stuff I don't want left outside etc.). Paint it with some garden murals to make it blend in a little, and hang some rope netting with seashells in the netting, build a potting bench over the tongue, and put my gazebo in front, and join the garden with the front side of the yard together.
This a pic of what it is now.
Forgot the frig I also us in winter for the hoses and sprinklers.

tills, is there anyway of putting skylights in the trailer and a potting bench? Would make a terrific potting shed and semi-greenhouse. I'm not sure I would camoflague it so much as just spruce it up, maybe put a nice little fenced in area in front of the door and use it in the same way that Rach is using the old bedstead - thats a lovely little piece of Americana, and I think it should really be used much like Pixies mini-shed, and all of the things that Heidi and Rach plant up in a real quirky way. I like it.
I think I would move the frig, then, to an out-of-sight area behind the trailer. I think this is the beginning of another brillant little garden area. May even need its own thread! Definately a rambling rose and some honeysuckle growing over it - This is going to be good! I'm not even sure that Gordon's magic barn can come up with a trailer like that!
I would do a cut out of a large plywood daisy and place it on top of the refer as it's stalk. Then I would get Michaelo's David....... LOL
Sofer - (smiling) stop it - you are bad! In your basket!
Okay Sofer, Lets come up with bears, or anything to do with animals but please stop with the Michale thing, cause thats just not going to happen here in my woods. But I do like the flower idea. By the way I lost out on Frances, we have no more, things happen for a reason, I'll find something else, But I do have a carving of Captain Peg Leg. LOL
Laurie, the potting bench will be built over the tongue in front, the frig. will be moved to the back on the right side of the trailer, my niece is going to paint it to be like it belongs there. I'm so excited, they move it last night, had to tweak it a little today the way I want it to set so I get the sun in the windows so I can put up seeds then take them to the GH. It haves all the indoor stuff, frig, sink, stove. and it all works it just can't travel anymore. I have a Pieris I have to move he will get to big where he is now. There will be lighting Thanks to Rach, just have to get the power out there. I will start a new tread, soon
This is its new spot, sill has to be leveled and the bench in place. this is where I will end this and start a new tread on, "Trailer finds new function"
Excellent - everyone over to the new thread!
Laurie, slow down, haven't made it yet, this is all to get for now. still allot of work to do and no time as yet.
Hey doing the zig and zag, have 4 projects going at once. How did I do that!!!!!
Have got the plants on hold for me at Heidi's, for Buddy's place
I wish I could retire and stay home.
Mary, I wish you could retire and stay home as well - when you work (especially when you have that darn commute!), there just isn't enough time. You actually are amazing - you fit far more in that I ever was able to when working!
