Today's Weather in Your Garden - 13

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

It must be missing us here, we just have a couple inches predicted. Got a dusting last night.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Thanks for your good wishes, Victor, Pirl and Amy. There's a lot going around here, and even though I'm a hand-washing demon, I guess it just wasn't enough!

Wow - you guys are in for another big snow storm??? That's just unbelievable! I wish I could beam you all down here for some sunshine and R & R! Of course, I wouldn't get too close! LOL

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

WC - would you like to borrow them?

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Thanks, Ngam! Yikes.....hope you make out ok with the coming storm! Oh, Dear! Are you numb to it yet or is it just wearing on you? That's a lot of snow!!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Louise, I'm ready for teleportation. Got my swimsuit in my right hand. Don't think I'll need much else. Oh, okay. Flip flops. Ready!

They're saying we should expect 4 - 8" of the white stuff here.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

More than that for the lower Hudson valley.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

i'm trying to get DH on an earlier flight tomorrow, in the hopes he can get to Columbus, OH before Saturday morning. He was supposed to be on a 3:45 flight, but i found him one at 9:10. Here to Philly, then Columbus - i think it's turboprops both legs...

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

I have to take my mom out to get her new hearing aide fitted tomorrow am. I just want to get out and get back before the heavy stuff gets here. Can't put it off, I will go nuts and so will she, its been a long 10 days since the other one pooped out. If it will hold off 'till noon I can hunker down and watch it pile up again. It is almost spring right? It will melt quicker this time right?

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Yes, it will melt faster. Go out with your blow dryer.

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Louise, sorry to hear that you've been sick. Feel better soon. Colin has been sick with a cold and he feels lousy!! Can't wait for more snow - yea - just kidding!! We're only supposed to get 3-6" here according to the last report I heard. Hope no one gets hit too hard. How many days left until spring??????? Eleanor

South Hamilton, MA

Just watched weather report--snow going kiddycorner across MA. 6-10 west of boston and up here on the north shore.

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

Sez 2-4" here but it's usually more.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

They're still saying we're at 4 - 8" here.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

and Eric still has to get to Columbus OH before Satuday morning.
sigh.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

It looks to me like this forecast is wrong... I woke up to around 2" already and coming down pretty heavy.... just looked at the radar and it seems the big stuff hasn't gotten here yet...I am shocked the weather man is wrong

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I am thinking we are up to the 4" mark ... and still coming

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

It is 25 degrees and really starting to snow. No burn pile today. I worked on my list of annuals and perennials that I am not starting from seed. I will not be planting seeds until the second week in March after I get back from a week in Fl and then a week in Maine. My seed box is bulging. I ordered a big heat mat and a case of cow pots. I have high hopes for a great start for my babies this year. Patti

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Well I guess it didn't go out to sea. :o( Been snowing very fine since sunrise. Hope the heavy stuff holds off 'till noon. Not much wind and 23 degrees now. The ground was cold so its covering every thing a light dusting already.

Typical NE Day. Snowing since 7:30. We are on the borderline of 3 to 5 or 4 to 7" ××××׉

Thomaston, CT

Let the dogs out at 6:30, & the plows were already up the road---about 3" here now, & have to get husb. to wound center 20 miles away--yea. The snow is odd----very fine with huge sugar snowflakes mixed in--can it be pieces of satellite debris? Eclipse fallout? It's very weird!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Hurray! Finally we have snow!

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Hurray? That is not the adjective I have been using to describe the weather today. LOL :o/

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Finally Pirl!! Is it snowman snow???

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Pirl, I thought you might get to make that snowman. We are still snowing, but light and fluffy stuff and the roads are being kept clear just by the random traffic so far. Only an inch of so on the roof thus far, so kind of a bust for sledding. Patti

Southern Dutchess Co, NY(Zone 5b)

Well, it's snowing pretty good here. We have 3+ inches already on the ground with sleet and freezing rain predicted for later. We're going out to remove the first layer so the work later will be lighter. Am disappointed that I had to cancel my mini-reunion in CT. My friend is disappointed because there is a snow day and her school is on vacation anyway!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Funny, ngam! It just looks so pretty to me. I realize if I had as much snow as others I would look at it differently but it makes me smile for today.

They're outside plowing the streets so when I can get out we'll see if Charlie wants to build a snowman. I'll call first in case he's been out and rejected the snow.

I haven't touched it to see if it's "snowman snow", Pixie.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

If it's not, take the hose out and give it a light spray! LOL DD tried that last time.....she was desperate for snowman snow!!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Good idea. Thanks!

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

It is snowing with a capital S. We had about 4" when I left Bridgeport a few minutes after 7. I didn't get to shovel because I had to leave early to get my car in for its 90,000 $ervice. (I asked them please to not find anything wrong.) I noticed the neighbors plow wasn't on their pickup this morning. And why not? I hope they will plow out my drive while I am at work. It will be fun!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

29 and snowing lightly. Looks like about 6 inches so far. 6-11 is the final prediction. My wife may not be coming home again.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I'm sorry Victor, but not sorry your getting the snow instead of me! LOL We are going to get some, but not as much as you for a change.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Hey you're getting snow - I feel a little better.
Supposed to actually get above 20 here today so I can get out and walk the dog - he has cabin fever.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

It's 12 here, 20 looks like a miss for here today.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

got to be a record for us... we don't get this kind of snow often

Any one who wants it can have all of my share. I am so done with the winter wonderland bit. Went out to pick up mom's new "ears" and got back with out any problem, it even stopped for a little while. Snowing again but just lightly and only about an inch on the ground. The heavy stuff is supposed to show up this pm but I hope they are wrong and it just fizzles. Not much wind at 27 degrees. Very nice snow pics if you like that sort of thing. :o/

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I lied! We actually made it up to 21 degree's. It had to warm up some so it could snow!
