Adding Images to Plantfiles

Greetings All,

Last year at planting time I had quite a few NOID seedlings and a few NOID seeds to boot. I swore I would be diligent this year about taking photos to help myself with ID's down the road, and so far so good! I've noticed that there are not a great deal of these images in plantfiles and thought I would add a few .....but I have no idea how. LOL

I would sure appreciare anyone pointing me in the right direction and I would also encourage others to add their images as well. We might save some one else from planting their verbena where they wanted their moonflower to go. ;-)

Go to the entry that you want to add an image to.
Scroll down to near the bottom of the page. There will be a link that says 'add an image'

You upload your image just like you would here on the DG forums.
There's a place for a short description. I usually add something like...Verbena seedlings, mid February west KY, USA

That's all there is to it.

The image will then go to a folder where DG Admin will check it for correctness. It will be added to PF in a day or two.

While you are waiting to see it added, you can go to your personal page and it will list everything that you have in the 'pending' file, so that you don't duplicate anything.

NOIDs aren't included in PlantFiles.

We permit entries for species, varieties and cultivars if we can verify they are valid and published names. Unfortunately, that means we can't accept entries for unnamed seedlings and crosses.

If you have images of plants that are only tentatively identified (you've lost the tag, or they are your own seedlings or crosses), they shouldn't be submitted to to an existing entry in the hopes you've guessed correctly. (A questionable photo could cause confusion to others comparing their plant to your images.)

You can create entries in your own personal garden journal for your NOIDs. That will allow you to catalog them and make notes as you observe their growth.
