What I am doing in my garden now!

Burwash Weald, United Kingdom(Zone 9b)

Pix's, I can't get the link to work - help!

Hmm. It's working for me, Laurie. But it's a thread I started to announce the hellebores heidi has at a greatly reduced cost. You can find it on the NW forum thread list if the link doesn't work for you.

It eventually worked - when the Norton update finished.

Bloom shot. its is the darkest Hell I have seen, so far.

Thumbnail by tillysrat

That's a beautiful color!! Now you need a whitish colored one to put behind it so the dark blooms will show up even better. I love the dark ones. But I must admit to being a little disturbed by your abbreviation for the name! LOL!! How can a flower that lovely be the 'darkest hell'????
Sorry, Tills, I just had to! LOL!!

Mountlake Terrace, WA(Zone 8a)

OK, I will look on my first hell to see if there are any flowers left, but they are green/brown if I am not mistaken. And I just recently got my second, H. "Ivory Prince" which is now happily blooming in its 4 inch pot. My shade garden has gotten confusing lately, as I cut down the vast majority of the shade, a Japanese Maple which was 4 feet from the house. So now I need to shuffle plants around, and probably create a totally new shade garden.

But yesterday, I spent the morning lining the start of a drainage ditch that runs along 2 sides of my property. We live at the end of a cul-de-sac, and have a street drain right into the ditch, which provides for down stream water quality. Well, for the last 15 years, it was just a ditch there, with grass on both sides. This year, there is going to be a perennial on each side of the dang ditch, with a lovely broken concrete wall on each side of it. Hopefully, the plants (mostly from the GE) along with a Canna 'Phason' aka Tropicanna or the Howard Stern of plants from our own NWGordon, will be the Master of Ceremonies. Now I just have to round out the plant selection.

Pictures, AD. Do you want to start a thread so we can all see it develop?

Burwash Weald, United Kingdom(Zone 9b)

I love a new thread. More room to roam.

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

I too wondered about the 'hell' being a bad start to today. Lol. Yes bring on a new thread so we can wander elsewhere.

Hello Mike, nice to run into you over here.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Welcome, Mark!!

Would love to see some of your pictures or a link to where you've posted them. What is the "project" Sue's referring to?

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Hey y'all

I am afraid rain stopped play on the project for the time being!!
The project itself was to dig up the lawn area and widen the borders so we can fit in more plants. It will eventually have a lawn path between the two borders. But not a straight path.......... has to be a winding one. I will find the thread and post the link for you all....

Thank you for the lovely welcomes............. nice to be on a different part of DG that i have never been on before.

Didn't know this is where you hang out Susybell...........

Hi Mark,
Yup, this is where I spend most of my time on DG. :) I have so much fun in here with these folks that I almost don't like to leave. :)

Your border is looking great! Do you think you could post the link to your Schizostylis & Crocosmia sites again? I keep losing them in the threads. When I go back to bookmark them I can't find the posts again. :(

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Hi Susybell...........

Seems like a nice friendly place to be................ I may come back here again!! LOL

Thanks.............. but the border is looking very sad at the minute......... can't wait till spring then i can get stuff sorted!!

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Mark - We'd love to have you over here. We're always up for more ideas and we are absolutely addicted to photos. And I'm not above "lifting" a good idea for incoroporation into my yard.

I for one would love to see as many pictures of your garden as you'd like to post.

Murmur was just posting some of her beautiful blues last night on one of our other threads (we jump around a lot LOL).

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

Hi Mark,

Thanks, got them bookmarked now. :)
Your border may not be sorted, but the shape and structure is really nice, and that's key for it looking great later on.

Yes, Murmur's blues were just gorgeous.

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

I am always having ideas................ but our garden isn't big enough to do too much with it.... But if you see any ideas in any photos Katie, you are welcome to lift them!!! LOL

I will post one or two for you to have a look at............

What are murmur's BLUES........??????

Susy............. don't lose them this time!! LOL
Yes the shape is kinda there, still needs altering a little yet!! It will look cool when its planted........ you will see as we do it.

Mark

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

Mark,
Here are Murmur's blues http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=4684978

I'll be more careful with the links this time.... ;)

We always like hearing different ideas for our gardens, too, so do share your thoughts.

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Ok, a quick view of the very top of the garden where the lawn ends and a concrete path begins. The path takes you between two borders to a patio where the greenhouse is situated.....
