DAILY PICS VOL 66
Very nice pics everyone!!
Gardenpom, I'm about ready for you to send some of the Baltimore Orioles back my way, I just love them. They've nested for the last 4 years or so in a big elm tree on the field side of my fence, I can stand at my back door and watch them.
Our poor birds were in a feeding frenzy again today, light snow thru the night and some still falling, 23 degrees at noon and a slight wind, burrrrr. I put out food this morning and more when I went home for lunch. That Pileated was back too, so I filled up her feeder with more suet.
It would be a thrill to have a Pileated come down to the feeder. I have seen a pair around here, but never in my yard.
Nice pics Nanny! I see my Downys on the ground sometimes, but not very often. Since I started throwing a cheap mixed feed on the ground for the Doves and Starlings, I've been seeing the WB Nuthatches on the ground too, not sure what they're eating though.
Gardenpom - I've been feeding the birds for 3 or 4 years and this is the 1st year the Pileated has come to the feeder, very exciting, maybe she'll bring her fellow too :-) Thanks for another shot of the Baltimore Oriole! I didn't realize, until I put out oranges and grape jelly for them, that the Red-bellied Woodpeckers like them too and the Mockingbirds eat the oranges as well.
Nice Cardinal pic Dragonfly, the frost makes it even more pretty!
Thanks Wallaby, that Long-tailed Tit sure is a cutie!
Those are really pretty, we don't have any kind of Pheasants in my area. Do you feed them or do they just forage?
They just forage sadie, I see them sometimes in the garden but it's probably good cover for them too.
The two started to walk down the grass paths and were joined by another, lol, I went around the other side after and one was practically facing me but didn't see me. The grass has been growing in this warmth!
That is so weird that they aren't seeing you! That green grass looks nice, we're still yucky and brown...and snow/ice covered at the moment :-(
Do you have a special button, you push to make yourself invisible Wallaby. Let us know about it. Quite a thrill to be able to get so close, to take pictures, nice job.
Lots of nice pictures everyone.
Rose, poor Rose and Dragonfly, I feel for you, with all that ice. Careful out there. Here it's tons of snow, again today. I'm ready to join Adel, in the hunt for the ground hog.
GPom I want one of those Oriole, It's on my wish list.
Sadie you have Ice too? Careful

Yep, we've got snow and ice too, ours doesn't usually hang around very long though.
Wonderful pics GP!!!!
Love those Pheasants wallaby!
Nice Cardinal Bev!
burn, nice pics. I love those Evening Grosbeaks!

I disagree, Resin. There is too much dark pigment in the top left bird for an Arctic. When the breast feathers are fluffed up on a Common Redpoll the bird can look very white. I have stopped many times for a good second look hoping for an Arctic only to be disappointed again.
Another shot out the kitchen window.

Great shots and pics everyone! Thanks for sharing!
